Recommendation Summary Clark County Crime Prevention Act of 2016
[T]he SNTIC recommends that the Nevada State Legislature authorize the increase of the sales tax rate in Clark County by 0.1 percentage point, with the first portion of incremental revenue distributed to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and dedicated to increasing police resources within the resort corridor in proportion to the share of countywide sales tax revenue generated within the resort corridor. The remaining incremental revenue shall be distributed to local police agencies based on population. 1

Resort Corridor Police Assignments All Metropolitan Police Department officers funded through the Resort Corridor allocation must be assigned to the resort corridor as defined in the maps below Las Vegas Strip Area Boundary comprises Las Vegas Boulevard from Russell Road to St. Louis Avenue extending 2,300 feet from the street centerline and Flamingo Road from Las Vegas Boulevard to Arville Street with adjacent areas to include the properties of The Palms, Gold Coast and Rio. Downtown Las Vegas Area Boundary comprises the area bordered by Stewart Avenue to the north, 8th Street to the east, Bridger Avenue to the south, and Main Street to the west. 11
