Section I: Statement of Faith A: Kingdom Advisors Statement of Faith We believe that the Bible is the inspired, authoritative Word of God. It is without error in all its teaching. We believe that there is one God, Lord of the universe, eternally existent in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ; in His virgin birth; in His perfect, sinless life; in His miracles; in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood; in His bodily resurrection; in His ascension to heaven to the right hand of God the Father; and in His personal and visible return in power and glory. We believe that all people are lost sinners and that regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. We believe that all people will be resurrected - those who are saved to eternal life and those who are lost to eternal damnation. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. We believe that God, as Creator, is the ultimate Owner of all possessions on earth. God has given people the authority to be stewards of those possessions and the responsibility to faithfully manage them according to the principles in the Word of God. I hereby certify that I have read, understand and agree with the above Kingdom Advisors Statement of Faith in its entirety and I pledge to support its mission: Signature Printed Name B. Section III: Personal Practice of Financial Biblical Stewardship 1. Please read the following statement regarding your personal stewardship and sign below if you are in agreement: I agree to maintain a financial lifestyle that is consistent with that of a biblical financial steward in the following areas: 1. Giving - Regular giving in proportion to income to the local church and/or other Christian ministries. On the first day of every week each one of you is to put aside and save, as he may prosper, so that no collections be made when I come (1 Corinthians 16:2) 2. Taxes Exhibit integrity in completing personal tax returns. And Jesus said to them, Then render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's. (Luke 20:25) 3. Debt Minimize the use of personal debt and accept an absolute commitment to debt repayment. The wicked borrows and does not pay back, but the righteous is gracious and gives. (Psalm 37:21) Just as the rich rule the poor, so the borrower is servant to the lender. (Proverbs 22:7) 4. Provision for Family Accept an absolute commitment to provide for the family that God has entrusted to you. Prescribe these things as well, so that they may be above reproach. But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. (1 Timothy 5:7-8) 5. Lifestyle - Maintain a controlled lifestyle, a family budget, and good cash management skills. "Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Will he not first sit down and estimate the cost to see if he has enough money to complete it?" (Luke 14:28) Certified Kingdom Advisor Applicant s Signature Date Spouse s Signature (if unmarried, please write N/A) Date 10

Kingdom Advisors Statement on Personal Practice of Financial Biblical Stewardship Form It is absolutely essential that a Certified Kingdom Advisor practice biblical financial stewardship in their personal life and in their business. In light of God s Word and our call to be found faithful as stewards, please respond to the following question relating to your personal convictions in the area of biblical financial stewardship. Please attach additional pages, if necessary. How would you define stewardship? 11

Section IV: Application of Biblical Wisdom in Counsel A: Kingdom Advisors Core Training I have completed the Kingdom Advisors Online Core Training (21.5 hour course) and have completed the session tests with a minimum pass standard of 80% per test. Date: Applicant Initials: q Verified by Kingdom Advisors Staff: q B: Leadership Requirements I am a current and active member of Kingdom Advisors in good standing. Applicant Initials: q Verified by Kingdom Advisors Staff: q I am an active member in the following Kingdom Advisors Study Group: (if there is a local study group in your area) Applicant Initials: q Verified by Kingdom Advisors Staff: q C: Core Beliefs Review Review the following list of core beliefs and indicate whether you agree with Kingdom Advisors Core Beliefs in each area or attach your own if you do not agree. MY PRACTICE I am called to be a disciple of Christ and disciple others in my present vocation. The stewardship of my practice is a holy calling and requires intentionality and will have eternal consequences for me. LEADERSHIP As a disciple of Christ and one who disciples others, I am called to leadership. Leadership is a function of character and not position. The skills of leadership can be nurtured and developed. DISCIPLESHIP According to Matthew 28:19, Jesus calls each of us to go and to make disciples of all men. The goal of discipleship is to Present every man complete in Christ, Colossians 1:28-29. Discipleship is an intentional, lifelong process. 12

(Core Beliefs, continued) BIBLICAL WORLDVIEW My worldview is my ultimate core belief and, as a Christian, I believe in a personal Creator who created me to be in relationships with others for all eternity. Mine is an empowered, other-centered life that requires my radical obedience to our Lord and Savior. I know that God always has my best interests at heart, and ultimately, it is all about God and not me. Everything I do while living on earth has an eternal consequence. COUNSELOR As a financial advisor/counselor, I believe that it is necessary to listen to my clients and staff with not only my head but also my heart. The skills required to do this can be nurtured and developed. GOALS Meaningful life planning always begins with goals. As goals always concern the future, they are a statement of faith and one of the primary ways that I can see God at work in my financial affairs. A goal is not a goal until it is measured in terms of amount and time period. LIFESTYLE The Bible does not define an appropriate lifestyle. Lifestyle is determined by each family unit for themselves. Financial contentment does not result from having a particular lifestyle, but rather, it results from living within the means of God s provision. BORROWING AND DEBT Borrowing is not a sin, but it may deny God an opportunity to work, and it always presumes upon the future. Consumptive borrowing will sentence one to a reduced lifestyle in the future and will limit financial flexibility currently and future financial freedom. Borrowing may be symptomatic of spiritual issues. A husband and wife should be in complete harmony with borrowing decisions. Borrowing can lead to the inability to repay, which is a form of bondage. The Bible warns against being in bondage to anyone or anything. One of the keys to financial freedom is being totally out of debt. BANKRUPTCY The Bible clearly states in Psalm 37:21 that a believer should repay whatever he owes. As a result, bankruptcy with the aim of not repaying debts is not a legitimate alternative for a Christian. Bankruptcy may be used in certain situations to effectively provide equitable treatment for all personal creditors. 13

(Core Beliefs, continued) CHARITABLE GIVING Giving is commanded in the scriptures both for the benefit of the recipient and for the benefit of the giver. Increased giving should be an integral part of any maturing Christian s life. The amount given should be prayerfully determined and not an automatic 10%. According to scripture, giving should be done proportionately to one s income and net worth, and giving should be done regularly and cheerfully. BIBLICAL STEWARDSHIP Biblical stewardship could be defined as the use of God-given resources for the accomplishment of God-given goals or objectives. It is a lifelong process of growth in spiritual character and implies that every spending decision is a spiritual decision. FINANCIAL PLANNING Financial planning is the allocation of limited financial resources to unlimited alternatives, and it is applicable to anyone, at any income or net worth level (as all resources are ultimately limited.) PRINCIPLES OF FINANCIAL SUCCESS The five principles of financial success are to 1. Spend less that you earn - Proverbs 13:11 2. Avoid the use of debt - Proverbs 22:7 3. Build liquidity - Proverbs 6:6-8 4. Set long-term goals Philippians 3:14 5. Believe that God owns it all Psalm 27:4. INVESTMENTS Investments are a tool one uses to accomplish financial objectives and are not an end in and of themselves. One accumulates wealth by spending less than they earn over a long time period. One preserves wealth by following the Biblical principles of diversification, professional advice, and a long time horizon. Investment speculation should only be done after asking the question, Would this money be better used by giving to a Kingdom purpose? and, secondly, Can I afford to lose this money with no adversarial effect on my long-term goals? Using my investments to make a statement of faith is legitimate and may or may not cost me something in the way of return and/or risk. WORK AND RETIREMENT God created man to work throughout a lifetime. Work is normative, not a result of the fall, and should be accompanied by a sense of satisfaction and enjoyment. Leisure is a part of God s plan but not the objective of His plan. Work should be accompanied by a sense of calling. 14

(Core Beliefs, continued) NET WORTH One cannot accumulate enough to feel financially secure, significant, or successful. However, everyone can answer the question, How much is enough? The answer will differ for every family and is a number that should be determined prayerfully and periodically (as time results in many changing circumstances.) Net worth is always and only a measurement of God s provision and never a measurement of significance or success. INCOME TAXES Scripture commands that people pay their taxes. Taxes should never be a source of cash-flow problems as they can always be adequately planned for. Tax planning should never be the ultimate driving force in financial decisions. In many ways, income taxes are an indicator of God s blessings. LIFE INSURANCE Life insurance should play an integral part in any financial plan, and buying life insurance does not demonstrate a lack of faith, but rather prudent planning. Overinsuring for the purpose of protection is unscriptural, as only God ultimately provides the protection we need. Having enough life insurance to provide for family needs is a good stewardship decision. WEALTH TRANSFER Wealth transfer is different from estate planning in that it begins during one s lifetime, and it considers the impact on the beneficiary as its primary objective. A beneficiary should never be surprised by the decisions of the steward. It is the last stewardship decision that God allows the steward to make. TRAINING CHILDREN It is by faith, with commitment, that a parent trains a child in the principles and skills of money management. Both money and wisdom can be left to children, but wealth left without wisdom can have dire consequences on future generations. Training children to manage money involves not only the skill of money management but also the Biblical truths and principles underlying all stewardship planning and decision making. I have reviewed the Kingdom Advisors Core Beliefs and have either indicated that I agree with each core belief or I have attached my own core belief(s) as indicated. Signature Date 15
