Hospital Indemnity Plans Even a few days in the hospital could be costly for your employees as lost income, medicines and therapies quickly add up. Hospital indemnity plans offer your employees financial protection. And they are available on a voluntary basis, so there is no cost to you. Hospital indemnity plans cover: Daily hospital confinement Intensive care Inpatient physician s attendance Surgery and anesthesia Transportation and other services Hospital indemnity plans are considered supplemental health coverage, meaning that they do not coordinate with or reduce any benefits received under your major medical insurance.
