ATTACHMENT 3 Industrial Hazardous Waste & Scheduled Waste DOE EiMAS CPD Points (12 Points) will be granted to Registered Certified Environmental Professional Introduction All employees within work area will at one time or another has to work in areas which expose to hazardous wastes. These risks if not well managed can be very costly to the company should accidents occur. On the other hand, if employers over estimate potential risks, it could be very time wasting in that a lot of unnecessary measures are taken to mitigate those risks. In this training, employers and also employees will learn the different variables in handling of hazardous wastes. While we do not want to over estimate risk factors, we also do not want to undermine potential risks. Learning Objectives At the end of this session, participants will be able to:- Articulate the definitions related to hazardous wastes Explain the legal requirements on hazardous waste management Identify factors which need to be considered when dealing with hazardous wastes Implement sound and effective hazardous waste management practices Formulate an implementation plan for full compliance with the regulatory and requirements of the Environmental Quality (Scheduled Wastes Regulations, 2005) Determine action plans which needed to be taken once risks have been identified Coordinate the necessary communication which needed to be considered once the risks have been correctly assessed Monitor the progress of actions to be taken in order to mitigate risks which have been identified
