Customer Service Procedure PLACING ORDERS Pumps: Please specify model or product number on your purchase order. Repair Parts: Always include pump serial numbers when ordering parts. This will insure your getting proper parts more promptly. Unless special shipping instructions are indicated on the purchase order, we will route the shipment best way in the judgement of our Traffic Department. All shipments are f.o.b. factory. PRICES All Price Circulars and Discount Schedules are subject to change without notice. When placing orders with the factories for items covered by a factory quotation, a copy of the specifi c quotation should accompany your purchase order. IMPROVEMENTS The Company is constantly improving the design, construction, and reliability of its products. This may result in certain pumps, engines, motors or accessories differing slightly from the catalog illustrations. PROCEDURE FOR RETURNED GOODS AND CLAIMS (a) (b) (c) Authorization-Returned goods will not be accepted unless written authorization for the return has been previously made. Special goods are not subject to return for credit. All goods shall be returned transportation charges prepaid. Tags For Return - With each written authorization, a "Returned Goods Tag" will be sent to you and must be attached to the outside of the returned package, to permit us to settle your account promptly and effi ciently. Outside Purchased Material - The return of any material supplied by us, but manufactured by others, will be subject to acceptance based on the terms of the specifi c fi rm involved. (e) (f) (g) (h) (i) Lost in Transit - Upon notification of material which is assumed lost in transit, the Company will trace the shipment and do all possible to expedite delivery. 30 Days to File Claim - In the case of short shipment, a claim must be filed not later than 30 days after receipt of shipment. Upon notification, the shorted goods will be shipped alone, or with other goods, as specified by customer. In-Warranty Pump Returns - Pumps returned for service under our Warranty Program will be repaired or replaced at our option, no charge, f.o.b. the factories, assuming found to be defective. The pump serial number, date of purchase, date of installation, and date of failure should be included when writing the factory for authorization to return the pumps. (See Paragraphs a and b) Upon receipt of the pump claimed defective, should, in our judgement, the failure not be within the structure of our Warranty, the pump will be serviced as outlined under Paragraph h listed below. Out-of-Warranty Pump Returns - Pumps returned for service will be placed in first class operating conditions, using genuine DEMING Parts. Repair charges are based on price of repair parts, plus labor. All factory serviced items are f.o.b. factory. Should the cost of repairs appear to be uneconomical when compared to the replacement value of a new DEMING Pump, we will so advise the customer. Should the customer choose not to proceed with these repairs, a $7.00 net fee will be charged to cover cost of original inspection and teardown. Order Entry of Engineered Pumps - Orders once placed and accepted can be changed or cancelled only with our written consent and upon terms which will indemnify us against loss due to material commitments or actual expense incurred in processing order and in preparation of material. (d) Breakage and Damage - We cannot be responsible for breakage after goods are delivered to the transportation company in good condition. Upon receipt of any damage goods, notation should be made upon the face of the freight bill, and claim for value filed with delivering Carrier. This action is our customers' responsibility. 4 /07 USA: (937) 778-8947 Canada: (90) 47-6223 International: (937) 61-398

Laboratory Performance Test Procedure For Industrial Type Pumps Crane Pumps & Systems test facilities and equipment are capable of conducting pump performance test normally required by architects and engineers specifi cations. When test is required, the test procedure will be conducted according to the Standards of the Hydraulic Institute for Centrifugal Pumps. Driving units used to perform the test will be a calibrated electric motor, dynamometer or the customer's electric motor. Test normally required are of the following types and include the various steps listed. A - Laboratory Performance Test - Non-Witnessed 1. Pump will be mounted with a suitable driver and operated at the rated capacity and pumping head for not less than 1 minutes to verify satisfactory mechanical operation of the unit. 2. Performance test will consist of recording not less than fi ve rating points, of which the following are mandatory: a.) A point will be recorded at the maximum horsepower required by the pump. In the event that the maximum horsepower required during the test is not obtained before maximum capacity, a point at maximum capacity will be recorded. If maximum horsepower required is observed before maximum capacity, an additional point will be recorded at maximum capacity. b.) A point will be recorded at the operating conditions for which the pump is sold. c.) A point is recorded at pump shut-off (no-fl ow) condition. d.) Additional operating points will then be recorded; so spaced that an accurate representation of the pump performance can be plotted and performance curve drawn showing range of capacity, head, brake horsepower, effi ciency and speed. A Certifi ed Performance Curve will be submitted to the customer. B - Laboratory Performance Test - Witnessed The test procedure is identical to the Laboratory Performance Test described above, except that the test is witnessed by the purchaser or his representative. C - Laboratory Hydrostatic Test Consists of testing pressure castings as follows: Iron: Castings with 12 lb. fl ange - Test @ 188 psi Castings with 20 lb. fl ange - Test @ 37 psi C - Laboratory Hydrostatic Test - Continued Ductile Iron, Bronze, Carbon steel, Alloy Steel: Castings with 10 lb. fl anges - Test @ 22 psi Castings with 300 lb. fl anges. - Test @ psi Test data will be submitted to the purchaser. When required, test may be witnessed and will be of one half hour duration. The tests described above will be performed on Centrifugal Pumps, Vertical Sump Pumps, wet and Dry Pit Sewage Pumps, Vertical Turbine Pumps and Submersible Pumps in clean water with performance curve corrected for specifi c gravity and viscosity of the liquid to be pumped. Rotary Pumps will be tested in light oil verify satisfactory mechanical operation of the unit against a selected head pressure. Statement regarding test can be furnished to the purchaser when required. D - Net Positive Suction Head (NPSH) Test Centrifugal type pumps only - Fig. 3060, 3180, 0, 4100, 4200 and 060 Series Laboratory Net Positive Suction Head (NPSH) test will be conducted as follows: 1.) Design Capacity Only - suffi cient test points will be recorded to determine the operating NPSH required and will be plotted on the performance curve as total head vs. NPSH required at the design capacity. 2.) Complete Curve - a series of test points at different operating capacities, from maximum capacity to a minimum of 2% of maximum capacity (not less than four complete test), will be performed and plotted on performance curve as total head vs. NPSH required. NPSH test may be performed in conjunction with Laboratory Performance Test described above.
