SUMMARY: The and Charges Bylaw imposes a fee payable in respect of all or part of a service of the municipality, the use of municipal property, or the exercise of authority to regulate, prohibit or impose requirements. This bylaw is a 'consolidated' version and includes amendments up to the date listed in the bylaw heading. CITY OF KELOWNA BYLAW NO. 9381 REVISED: April 4, 2016 CONSOLIDATED FOR CONVENIENCE TO INCLUDE BYLAWS NO. 9798, 10361, 10368, 10556, 10684, 11070 and 11200 A Bylaw to Establish Miscellaneous and Charges WHEREAS pursuant to the Community Charter, City Council may, by bylaw, impose a fee payable in respect of all or part of a service of the municipality, the use of municipal property, or the exercise of authority to regulate, prohibit or impose requirements; AND WHEREAS Council is desirous of setting fees to defray certain administrative costs and services; NOW THEREFORE the Municipal Council of the City of Kelowna, in open meeting assembled, enacts as follows: 1. Pursuant to Section 194 of the Community Charter, there is hereby levied a fee for administrative services provided as set out in Schedule A attached to and forming part of this bylaw. 2. Pursuant to Section 194 of the Community Charter, there is hereby levied a fee for police services provided as set out in Schedule B attached to and forming part of this bylaw. BL9798 added Section 2.1 as follows: 2.1 Pursuant to Section 194 of the Community Charter, there is hereby levied a fee for services provided at City of Kelowna Composting Operations as set out in Schedule D attached to and forming part of this bylaw. 3. All fees and charges must be paid in advance of the service or delivery of goods, with the exception of recognized Kelowna Residents Associations in good standing who may receive one free copy each of bylaws and documents listed in Schedule C attached to and forming part of this bylaw. 4. and Charges Bylaw, 1994, No. 7315, and all amendments thereto, is hereby repealed. 5. This bylaw may be cited for all purposes as "Miscellaneous and Charges Bylaw No. 9381". Read a first, second and third time by the Municipal Council this 3 rd day of October, 2005.
