The Recertificatio Cycle The ETA Certified Paymets Professioal(tm) (ETA CPP) certificatio is valid for 3 years from the date of certificatio. The expiratio date is prited o your certificate. Each ETA CPP must ear ad report a total of 36 cotiuig educatio (CE) credits withi every three-year recertificatio cycle to maitai the ETA CPP credetial. A descriptio of qualifyig recertificatio activities is outlied withi this documet. Educatioal programs do ot eed to be produced or sposored by ETA to qualify for CE credits. ETA CPPs do ot eed to retest to reew the certificatio as log as all required CE credits are obtaied withi the time period allotted, ad the certificatio has ot expired (see Recertificatio Grace Period for exceptios). Recertificatio Period You may start earig CE credits the day followig the completio of your test. All CEs reported must be eared betwee a period begiig the day followig the date you took the ETA CPP examiatio ad edig o the ETA CPP certificate expiratio date. Whe reewig certificatios each subsequet three year cycle, the period will begi the day followig the date your reewed certificatio became valid, ad ed o the ETA CPP reewal certificatio expiratio date. Examples: You tested o May 12, 2012, ad your certificate expires o May 12, 2015. You have betwee May 13, 2012 ad May 12, 2015 to ear ad report 36 CE credits. You successfully became recertified o April 20, 2015, prior to your certificatio expiratio date of May 15th, 2015. You have betwee May 16, 2015 ad May 15, 2018 to ear ad report 36 CE credits. Reportig Credits It is the resposibility of each ETA CPP to maitai records ad documetatio of qualified CE credits eared. ETA audits at least 5% of reewal cadidates applicatios. If audited, recertifyig applicats must provide documetatio sufficiet to prove qualified CE credits have bee eared i coformace with this documet. Ay reported credits that do ot meet verificatio requiremets will be disqualified. For further iformatio o verificatio requiremets, please read the Documetatio of Attedace sectio of this documet. ETA CPPs will receive a remider otice six moths (by mail ad email) ad three moths (by email) prior to their certificatio expiratio date. No-receipt of a recertificatio remider otice does ot waive the recertificatio requiremet ad will ot serve as a reaso to appeal revocatio. I order to receive recertificatio remiders i a timely fashio, you must otify Castle Worldwide of all email address chages at testig@castleworldwide.com or 919-572-6880. Submittig Credits Olie Certificats must report their CE credits through the Castle Worldwide/ETA olie reewal reportig system durig the recertificatio applicatio process, which is three years after earig the credetial, ad every three years thereafter. Credits ca oly be reported AFTER havig received a reewal remider otice. Oce you have eared ad reported all 36 credits, the reewal reportig system will allow you to submit your applicatio ad pay your recertificatio fee olie usig a credit card. Calculatig Credits Recertificatio credits are calculated based o the followig guidelies: You may ear ay umber of credits per year. You may ear all your credits i oe year, or over the course of three years. Example: A full-day semiar may ru from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm ad icludes a oe hour luch ad two fiftee-miute breaks. There are a total of 480 miutes (8 hours = 480 miutes) i the semiar Some recertificatio program categories have a maximum umber of eligible credits per recertificatio cycle. A educatioal program must last for at least 50 miutes to qualify for oe (1) CE credit. Semiar from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Luch Two 15-miute breaks Total istructio time 480 miutes -60 miutes -30 miutes 390 miutes Oe (1) CE credit is equivalet to 50 miutes (icludig questio ad aswer sessios) of istructio i a approved topic area. Credits eared are to be reported i whole umbers ad are ot rouded up. Oly qualified educatioal activities i approved topics should be reported. A activity should be listed exactly as the title appears o the prited materials for the evet. Do ot forward supportig documetatio of attedace or participatio to ETA or Castle Worldwide whe filig your recertificatio credits; however, the supportig documetatio should be saved ad available to provide to Castle ad/ or ETA i the evet you are selected for audit. Oe CE credit is eared for every 50 miutes of istructio. Total CE credits 390/50 =7.8 Roud dow to the earest whole umber to determie that the semiar ears 7 CE credits. Total CE credits eared 7.0 To calculate credits for cofereces that offer multiple cocurret sessios of varyig legth over the course of oe or more days, such as TRANSACT: Powered by ETA, total the umber of miutes of the sessios that you atteded i their etirety ad divide by fifty. If the sessios atteded total 250 miutes, you would ear five (5) CE credits. Calculate the sum of the umber of miutes accrued; divide by 50 ad roud the umber dow. All documetatio must cotai the: Name of the sposorig orgaizatio (e.g., Electroic Trasactios Associatio) Title of the activity (e.g. Trasact: Powered by ETA or idividual cocurret sessio ame) Date of the activity (the date must fall withi your three year cycle) Legth of the activity (mius breaks ad meals) OR umber of CE credits Cotact iformatio for a sposor represetative who could verify your attedace if you are audited (e.g., Electroic Trasactios Associatio; 202.828.2635) Recertificatio Grace Period A grace period of six moths is exteded to reewig applicats, but requires a additioal fee to complete applicatio. The offerig of a grace period ca be revoked at ay time without otice. The revocatio of a grace period is ot grouds for appealig certificatio expiratio. Additioal six-moth grace periods will ot be grated. Your credetial will remai curret durig the six-moth grace period, but you will shorte the legth of your ext reportig cycle, sice credits may ot be used twice. It will also shorte the legth of your ext certificatio cycle, as the ew expiratio date will be based o the origial expiratio date of the previous cycle NOT icludig the extesio period. You will receive official revocatio otificatio by certified mail. The ETA CPP credetial ad certificate is the property of the ETA CPP Credetialig Committee ad ca be revoked at ay time for ay reaso. Should you wish to reistate your credetial after your certificatio has lapsed ad bee revoked, you are required to submit a formal appeal, i writig, to the ETA CPP Credetialig Committee. Gratig or deyig a appeal will be at the sole discretio of the ETA CPP Credetialig Committee, ad will be fial. For your appeal to be cosidered, you must submit the followig: A letter outliig the reasos for the lapse i reportig CE credits required for reewal A itemized list of all CE credits eared sice your last reewal alog with supportig documetatio. Examples of acceptable supportig documetatio ca be foud i the program category descriptios. The appeal must be submitted withi oe year of the expiratio date of the reewal cycle ed date for which credits were ot reported, or withi six moths of the ed of the grace period for that cycle. For example, a ETA CPP whose credetial was revoked for failure to report credits i a cycle edig i May 2015 has util May 2016 to submit a appeal. If a appeal is ot postmarked ad/or submitted by the deadlie, the opportuity to apply for reistatemet by appeal will be forfeited. To reistate the ETA CPP credetial after the appeal deadlie, a former certificat must submit a ew examiatio applicatio, remit the appropriate exam fees, meet all eligibility requiremets i effect at the time of the ew applicatio, pass the examiatio ad the abide by the recertificatio policy i effect at the time the ETA CPP desigatio is reistated. Audit Audits are a stadard practice withi the certificatio idustry. Castle Worldwide will audit a radom selectio of at least 5% of reewal cadidates. The purpose of a audit is to esure that certificats have eared the cotiuig educatio credits reported durig their recertificatio cycle. If you are selected for the audit, you are required to participate, ad must adhere to the policies ad procedures of the audit. If you caot supply documetatio that cofirms completio of the reported recertificatio activities, you will be cosidered deliquet ad your credetial will be revoked by the Credetialig Committee. Fees paid durig recertificatio applicatio are orefudable regardless of the outcome of a audit. Appeals will NOT be cosidered uless documetatio of the etire 36 CE credits is icluded with the request. I the evet that your certificatio is reistated, you will be assessed a reistatemet fee of $150. Qualifyig Recertificatio Activities Oly activities related to the electroic paymets idustry are eligible for recertificatio credits. CE activities eed NOT be sposored or pre-approved for credit by ETA to qualify. ETA is uable to review ad preapprove recertificatio activities for idividual certificats. Please review these guidelies to determie if a activity is eligible. Publicatio of authored articles o idustry-related topic areas (ot restricted to ETA publicatios) Voluteerig o ETA or other idustry related orgaizatio committees Accepted Documetatio: A copy of satisfactory test or quiz results or certificate of completio. The umber of credits awarded will be based o the average completio time determied by the sposorig orgaizatio. Published Articles ad/or Books Maximum Credits Accepted: 12 Activity Descriptio: Published articles or books. Two credits will be awarded for each published page. Accepted Documetatio: For articles, a copy of the publicatio cover AND the idex idicatig legth of article (umber of pages). Telecofereces/Webiars Maximum Credits Accepted: 36 Activity Descriptio: A live presetatio with web-based delivery of PowerPoit slides or other participat materials or pre-recorded presetatios with a quiz. Quiz scores must be 80% or higher. Accepted Documetatio: Copy of registratio cofirmatio or certificate of completio. F. Speakers/Preseters & Academic Lecturers Maximum Credits Accepted: 12 Activity Descriptio: Service as a lecturer, preseter or istructor. Speakers receive two credits for every 50-miutes of presetatio time. You may oly claim credits oce for a presetatio give multiple times durig a recertificatio cycle. Subject matter must relate to the topics i the curret ETA CPP test cotet outlie. ETA CPP iformatioal sessios preseted to colleagues or your local regioal associatio may also be claimed for credit.
