VOTER QUALIFICATIONS A person shall be entitled to vote at any school meeting for the election of school district officers, and upon all other matters which may be brought before such meeting, who is: A citizen of the United States Eighteen (18) years of age or older A resident within the district for a period of thirty (30) days preceding the meeting at which he/she offers to vote No person shall have the right to register for, or vote, at any school meeting or election who would not be qualified to register for or vote at an election in accordance with the provisions of Section 5-106 of the Election Law. (This includes convicted felons and those adjudged mentally incompetent by a court)

2017 2018 Budget Shall the Board of Education of the Tioga Central School District, in the County of Tioga, New York, be and hereby is authorized to expend sums set forth in the General Fund Appropriations in the amount of $18,510,864 and to levy the necessary tax therefore.

Purchase of School Buses RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Tioga Central School District, in the Town of Tioga, Tioga County, New York, is hereby authorized and directed to purchase two (2) school buses and to expend therefore a gross sum not exceeding $270,000 as follows: 2-65/70 Passenger School Buses at a gross cost not exceeding $135,000 each And that there shall be applied to the purchase any trade-in allowance to be received for a bus (or buses) now owned by the school district, and that the aforesaid sum of $270,000 or so much thereof may be necessary, shall be raised by tax on the taxable property of the school district to be collected in annual installments; and FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of Education is authorized to issue obligations of the district therefore in accordance with Education Law and Local Finance Law. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that if enacted legislation allows school districts to pay cash for new school buses without penalty of capacity ratings, the Board of Education is authorized to pay cash for the buses in an amount not to exceed $270,000 with the appropriation coming from the General Fund Balance.

Establish a Capital Reserve Fund RESOLVED, that the Board of Education establish a capital reserve fund under the provisions of Education Law 3651(1). The purpose of the fund is for construction, repair and reconstruction of capital improvements and the acquisition of equipment. The ultimate amount of the fund shall be $5,000,000. The probable term shall be 20 years. The source from which funds will be obtained can include any or all of the following: incentive aid; non-appropriated fund balances from the general fund as determined by the Board of Education, from time to time; State aid related to expenditures from the capital reserve fund; interest income related to investments of money in the fund and any other additional monies thereafter authorized by the voters of the District.
