Roadside assistance Get fast, professional help Towing Your vehicle can be towed to the nearest repair facility within 90 km. If you need to be towed further than 90 km, you ll benefit from a preferred rate. Flat tire If your vehicle s spare tire is in safe condition, it will be properly installed to replace a flat tire. Battery boost If you re faced with a battery problem, we ll test and boost it for you on the spot. If your battery cannot be boosted, Satellite will arrange for your vehicle to be towed to a repair facility. Emergency fuel delivery We ll deliver 10 litres of fuel to your disabled vehicle, free of charge. Lockout If your keys are locked inside your vehicle, Satellite will send a service team to gain entry. Or, if needed, we ll reimburse you for locksmith service up to $50. Extrication/winch If you re stuck, your vehicle will be winched or extricated from any ditch, mud, sand or snow. Satellite covers the cost for one truck and one operator for 20 minutes. 2
Q: Who provides the towing service? A: We have access to a network of independent operators throughout Canada and the US, who have been screened and qualified to provide top-notch service to our members. Q: How do I access Satellite services? A: Simply call 1 877 652 8482 to access all of Satellite s services. Q: Who can use Satellite? A: Since your Satellite coverage is attached to your vehicle, anyone driving your car can call for service. Travel benefits and assistance services are available to anyone listed on the policy or in your household. Q: How often can I call? A: You can call Satellite as often as you like, and you ll always get the help you need. Emergency road service will be provided at no cost to you for up to three calls per policy year (one call for vehicles 13 years or older). After that, we will arrange for service, but you will have to pay the service provider (at our negotiated preferred rates). Calls to Ask an Expert and Live Compass are unlimited. Frequently asked questions Q: Do I need to submit service receipts for reimbursement? A: No. You don t have to provide Aviva with any receipts the service provider will bill us directly. Q: If I don t call Satellite for assistance, can I be reimbursed for tow charges anyway? A: No. Prices for Satellite are based on negotiated service fees within our network of providers. These savings are significant, and enable us to keep the price of the program low. Q: I have a roadside assistance package with my vehicle warranty. Why would I need Satellite? A: Satellite offers several unique features not available with manufacturers warranties, including trip planning services, Ask an Expert, Live Compass and emergency travel and medical advice. Plus, with Satellite, you re not obliged to take your vehicle to the dealer s shop for repairs. Q: What if my keys are locked in the car and I can t get my membership card? A: In this case, submit the original receipt from the service provider and you will be reimbursed up to $50. Q: What if I m traveling in the US and need roadside assistance? A: Call Satellite. We have a network of towing and service providers in the US as well as Canada. Q: Will my insurance premiums be affected if I use Satellite? A: No. Services provided by Satellite will not count as a claim and will never affect your insurance premium. Q: Can I have my car towed to my regular mechanic? A: Yes, but you will have to pay part of the cost if your mechanic is farther than the nearest service centre. 6
