We wish to inform you that your scheme - Birla Sun Life Emerging Leaders Fund Series 4 (A Close ended Equity Scheme) ( the Scheme ) is due for maturity on Monday, August 07, 2017. In accordance with the proviso laid in Regulation 33(4) of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Mutual Funds) Regulations, 1996 ( SEBI Regulations ), as amended till date, it is proposed for resetting the maturity (i.e. extend the maturity) of the Scheme, for a further period of 730 days. In case, you prefer to remain invested, to get the benefit from the recent reforms, implementation of Goods and Service Tax ( GST ) and infrastructure development of the country, we request you to kindly fill Annexure I and submit this before close of business hours of Monday, August 07, 2017. In line with SEBI Regulations, BSLMF has to redeem the investments in the Scheme and credit the amount on maturity if there is no communication received from your end. We have hereby enclosed the Annexures detailing the application form, scheme features and portfolio with this letter, which will help you make your transaction for the roll-over (Re-setting of Maturity Date). Annexure II The Terms of Resetting the maturity (extension of maturity) and other features of the Scheme are as follows: Name Birla Sun Life Emerging Leaders Fund - Series 4 Product labelling of the Scheme This product is suitable for investors who are seeking: long term capital growth a close ended scheme with investments in equity and equity related securities predominantly in small & midcap companies Type of the Scheme Revised Maturity Provision Purpose of rollover Asset Allocation A Close ended Equity Scheme The scheme will have duration/tenure of 1828 days from and including the date of allotment. Revised Maturity Date: August 07, 2019 Re-setting of maturity will benefit the investors from the recent reforms, implementation of GST and focus on infrastructure development of the country, hence further increasing the tenure of the scheme would benefit the investors at this juncture for further period of 730 days. Under normal circumstances, the asset allocation of the Scheme will be as follows: Instrument Risk Profile Normal Allocation (% of total Assets) Equity and Equity related securities Out of which: Small & Mid Caps : 60-100% High High 80-100% Other than Small & Mid Caps : 0-40% High Cash, Money Market* & Debt instruments* Low 0-20% *In case of investments in debt and money market instruments, the scheme shall invest only in such securities which mature on or before the date of the maturity of the scheme. In case of securities with put options, the maturity shall be reckoned with respect to the final maturity date and not the put option date. For the purposes of this Scheme, large caps; mid caps, small caps will be considered as under (as per data available on NSE i.e. Nifty): Large Caps: Stocks which are ranked as Top 50 by Market Cap will be termed as Large Caps; Mid Caps: Stocks which are ranked 51-200 by Market Cap will be termed as Mid Caps; Small Caps: Stocks which are ranked 201 & beyond by Market Cap will be termed as Small Caps.

The Scheme may invest in equity derivatives instruments upto 20% of net assets subject to provisions specified in SEBI Circular no. DNPD/Cir 29/2005 dated September 14, 2005 and SEBI Circular No. DNPD/Cir- 30/2006 dated January 20, 2006, SEBI circular No. SEBI/DNPD/Cir-31/2006 dated September 22, 2006, SEBI Circular No. Cir/ IMD/ DF/ 11/ 2010 dated August 18, 2010 and such other SEBI guidelines issued from time to time. The Scheme may take exposure through derivative transactions in the manner and subject to limit as may be specified by SEBI from time to time. In accordance with SEBI Circular No. Cir/ IMD/ DF/ 11/ 2010 dated August 18, 2010, the cumulative gross exposure through equity, debt and derivative positions shall not exceed 100% of the net assets of the Scheme. The Fund Manager shall commence investment out of the NFO proceeds received in accordance with the investment objective of the Scheme only on or after the closure of the NFO period. The Scheme shall not invest in Foreign Securities, repo in corporate debt securities, Securitised Debt Instruments, credit default swaps and/or fixed income derivative instruments. The scheme shall not engage in securities lending and short selling activities. Change in Asset Allocation The above mentioned investment pattern is indicative and may change for short duration. Subject to the SEBI (MF) Regulations, the asset allocation pattern indicated above may change from time to time, keeping in view market conditions, market opportunities, applicable regulations and political and economic factors. It must be clearly understood that the percentages stated above are only indicative and not absolute and that they can vary substantially depending upon the perception of the Investment Manager, the intention being at all times to seek to protect the interests of the Unit Holders. Such changes in the investment pattern will be for short term and defensive considerations. The Fund Manager shall rebalance the portfolio within 30 days from the date of deviation to bring it in line with the asset allocation pattern as indicated in this SID. Further, in case the rebalancing is not done within the specified period, justification for the same shall be provided to the Investment Committee and the reason for the same shall be recorded in writing. The Investment Committee shall then decide on the course of action. To clarify and subject to above mentioned exceptions, in case the portfolio of the Scheme is found to be allocated in Small Caps and Mid Caps and other than Small & Mid Caps beyond the allocation range as above, the same shall be considered as deviation in asset allocation and require rebalancing as per provisions enumerated herein. Provided further and subject to the above, any change in the asset allocation affecting the investment profile of the Scheme shall be effected only in accordance with the provisions of sub regulation (15A) of Regulation 18 of the SEBI (MF) Regulations. Benchmark Index S&P BSE Midcap Index The Portfolio Statement of the Scheme as on June 30, 2017 is disclosed in Annexure III. All other features of the Scheme would remain unchanged after Re-setting the maturity.

The duly filled application for Re-setting the maturity request should be submitted at the Official Points of Acceptance of Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC Limited (erstwhile Birla Sun Life Asset Management Company Ltd.) on or before close of business hours of Monday, August 07, 2017. Unitholder(s) who do not submit the duly filled consent form within the aforesaid timelines will receive the redemption proceeds based on applicable NAV as on August 07, 2017, original maturity date of the Scheme. The Resetting of the maturity will be done only for those Unitholders who expressly provide their written consent to Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund by signing the application form provided in Annexure I. In view of the individual nature of the implications, each Unit holder is advised to consult his or her own tax advisors / financial advisors with respect to the specific amount of tax and other implications arising out of his or her participation in the Resetting the maturity of the Plan. The Trustee / AMC reserves the right to change / modify the provisions mentioned above at a later date.
