Consumer Price Index for the Country s Households

Consumer Price Index For the Country s Households (National Index) At present, inflation rate is prepared and released by urban and rural households. The policy making and planning have been mainly targeted on the inflation rate in urban areas. The year used in this report is the Iranian year which usually begins within a day of 21 March of the Gregorian calendar. To find the corresponding year of the Gregorian calendar, add 621 or 622 (depending on the time of the year) to a solar Hijri year. For example, the corresponding year of the year 1395 in the Gregorian calendar is (21 March 2016-20 March 2017).

Consumer Price Index for the Households of the Total Country(national Index) For the first time, Consumer Price Index of goods and services for households has been prepared by considering total households of the country ( urban and rural areas).

Reasons for Calculation of Consumer Price Index For the Total Country s Households (National Index) Accuracy of national statistics obtained from balanced aggregation of regional statistics Monthly inflation rate is one of the bases for making monetary policies made by policy makers Monthly inflation rate is different in urban and rural areas and monthly inflation for rural areas should be considered for making of an appropriate policy.
