Welcome to CSU, Sacramento. We d like to show you around. The purpose of this guide is to help you navigate your My Sac State and Student Center, as well as answer the questions you may have about some of our most popular programs such as: Financial Aid, Student Services Center, Registrar Office, and Student Financial Services. How To Log Onto The My Sac State Student Center Step Action 1. Go to www.csus.edu and from the top menu select the My Sac State link. 2. From the student Log In portal. Enter your SacLink Username and Password 4 P a g e
3. You have now accessed your Student Portal. 4. Select the Student Center link in the Student Center box. 5. You have accessed your Student Center. Monitor your account regularly for items that require action. Table of Contents 5 P a g e
Viewing Your To-Do List Items Step Action 1. Once logged into MySacState navigate to the Student Center link and open it. 2. Once in your Student Center locate the To Do List section and click the more link to find out more information about your holds such as the type of hold and the department that will be able to clear it with your help. 6 P a g e
3. Definitions Of To-Do s List Initiated = Action Required by you. Be sure to follow the instructions provided in the description. Received = Item has been received by our office. How to View Your Account Hold Messages Step Action 1. Once logged into MySacState navigate to the Student Center link and open it. 2. Once in your Student Center locate the Holds section and click the details link to find out more information about your holds such as the type of hold and the department that will be able to clear it with your help. 3. In the Details area you are able to determine which term/s are affected by the hold and, based on the description, why the hold was placed on your account. Please keep in mind that Financial Aid Holds do not prevent you from registering for classes but other departments holds may. Typically a Financial Aid Hold will prevent aid from disbursing. 8 P a g e

How To View Your Award Summary Step Action 1. Once logged into the Student Center navigate to the Finances section and click the View Financial Aid link to open it. 2. Click and select the correct/current aid year hyperlink 10 P a g e

How To Accept/Decline Your Financial Aid Step Action 1. Once logged into MySacState navigate to the Student Center link and open it. 2. Once logged into the Student Center navigate to the Finances section and click the Accept/Decline Awards hyperlink and open it. 12 P a g e
3. Click and select the correct/current aid year hyperlink For each individual award offered you may accept and/or decline by selecting the Accept or Decline boxes. Or, you may select all by clicking the accept all button. 13 P a g e
4. When accepting a loan you will have the opportunity to reduce the loan amount after you select accept. 5. Please also keep in mind the following when accepting Direct Subsidized and/or Unsubsidized Loans: UNSUB The Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan is a long-term, low interest loan for students and not based on financial need. Repayment begins six months after you graduate or drop below half-time enrollment. Interest begins to accrue at the time the funds are disbursed, and you are encouraged to pay the interest charges while attending school. Unpaid interest will be added (capitalized) to the principal amount at repayment. You must complete the Direct Loan Entrance Counseling and Master Promissory Note (MPN) to receive this loan. Please refer to your To Do List for further information. SUB The Federal Direct Subsidized Loan is a long-term, low interest loan for undergraduate students with financial need. Repayment begins six months after you graduate or drop below half-time enrollment. The government pays interest during in-school and deferment periods. You must complete the Direct Loan Entrance Counseling and Master Promissory Note (MPN) to receive this loan. Please refer to your To Do List for further information. 14 P a g e
6. All awards displayed in your Award Package are based on full-time attendance. If you plan to enroll in less than full-time status then you must update the number of units you will be enrolled in for Fall and/or Spring semesters. 7. By clicking the Submit icon you can accept all selected awards Please accept and/or decline all available awards before clicking the Submit button. Note that it is important to take action on all loans that have been offered to you. If at any time after your accept your award(s) you need to make an adjustment, please notify the Financial Aid Office in writing to increase or request a previously declined award. 8. After accepting your awards you will also be able to set up your E-Refund account, allowing you to receive your financial aid refund directly deposited into a specified bank account of your choice. How To Review Your Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) required by federal law, is a set of standards, that student s must meet to receive Financial Aid. A complete description of Sac State s SAP policy can be found on-line at: http://www.csus.edu/faid/policies/sap/index.html Step Action 1. 5. Passed SAP Green indicators mean that you have passed SAP standards and remain eligible for financial aid. 20 P a g e
6. SAP Not Passed Red indicators mean that you have not passed SAP standards and NOT eligible for financial aid. If your SAP status is red you will be prompted to file a SAP Appeal. Table of Contents 21 P a g e

Back on your Student Center locate the To Do List section and click the more link to find out more information on your SAP appeal and the link to the application. 22 P a g e
2. After completing the online portion of the SAP Appeal make sure to print out a copy, attach any supporting documents to the printed copy, and submit your finalized application to the Sac State Financial Aid Office. Table of Contents 23 P a g e
