Equities Global Equity Funds HSBC GIF China Consumer Opportunities The fund will primarily invest across the spectrum of emerging equity markets and developed equity markets selecting 30-60 stocks. The fund will seek to capitalize from exposure to Global Brands / Services and Trusted brands within consumer stables. The investment process is bottom-up driven, and stock selection criteria place priority on established market leaders, who enjoys pricing power, revenue generation from China and high brand value. HSBC GIF Climate Change The fund seeks to capitalize on the investment opportunities arising as a result of climate change. The fund tries to encapsulate the all-encompassing nature of climate change by investing in a portfolio of global companies, across all sectors. The benchmark for the fund is the MSCI All Country World Index. The fund aims to select the market-leaders in each sector that are managing their businesses in the face of climate change to maintain or enhance their competitive advantage. As a result, the fund is positioned differently to traditional climate change funds that focus solely on mitigation. HSBC GIF Emerging Wealth The fund seeks long-term growth by investing primarily in a well diversified portfolio of investments in equity and equity equivalent securities globally. The fund will seek to benefit from the growing consumer economy in Emerging Markets. The fund seeks to invest across a range of market capitalizations. 5

Equities HSBC GIF Frontier Markets The fund provides investors with access to a comprehensive and eclectic universe of highly inefficient pre-emerging markets. This includes 25 countries that are represented in the MSCI Frontier Markets index, 5 small emerging market crossover countries, companies that are listed on their domestic stock exchange but not included in the MSCI indices, and frontier market companies that are listed on developed market or emerging market stock exchanges*. Our universe includes approximately 3,000 companies across 60+ countries. Screening based purely on liquidity (minimum average daily volume of USD 250,000 over the last six months) reduces this to around 350 investable stocks. The team implements a broad-based, globally diversified approach to frontier markets. The investment process combines bottom-up rigorous stock analysis and top-down country analysis, with a strong emphasis on the former. The portfolio typically holds 60-80 of the most compelling buy-rated stocks. HSBC GIF Global Equity The fund seeks long-term growth by investing primarily in a well diversified portfolio of investments in equity and equity equivalent securities globally. The fund invests in companies in developed markets such as Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) countries and those in Emerging Markets. HSBC GIF Asia ex Japan Equity Smaller Companies The fund offers investors access to the potentially exciting long term investment opportunities that exist within the Asia ex Japan small cap sector. Stock selection focuses on unearthing growth opportunities in the less well-researched areas of the Asian universe. Fundamental research is conducted by a large team of experienced analysts based in several markets around the region - benefiting from local insight and understanding. HSBC GIF Asia Pacific ex Japan Equity High Dividend The fund offers investors access to opportunities in Asia Pacific ex Japan via a strategy focusing on stocks that combine sustainable profitability, attractive valuation and above-average dividend yield. Changes in corporate practices in Asia since 1997 have increased the willingness and ability to pay dividends among Asian companies; the region is viewed as a strong source of investment income. Fundamental research is conducted by a large team of experienced analysts based in several markets around the region - benefiting from local insight and understanding. HSBC GIF BRIC Equity The fund offers investors access to the potentially exciting long term investment opportunities that exist within Brazil, Russia, India and China BRIC stock markets. The investment team who are backed by over 200 emerging markets investment professionals located in 14 countries utilizes a well-established investment process focused on bottom-up stock selection and in-depth stock analysis. It is actively managed and focused on exploiting short term valuation inefficiencies with an objective to deliver long-term out-performance by holding a portfolio of 70-90 stocks. 7

Equities HSBC GIF BRIC Markets The fund invests primarily in equity securities of companies in Brazil, Russia, India and China ( BRIC ). It strategically allocates between the BRIC countries and will seek to track the total return performance of the MSCI US Dollar Brazil, MSCI US Dollar Russia, MSCI US Dollar India and MSCI US Dollar China indices. The Investment Adviser seeks to use financial derivative instruments in ways that can help enhance return and assist the fund in achieving its investment objectives. HSBC GIF BRIC Markets Equity The fund offers investors access to the potentially exciting long-term investment opportunities that exist within Brazil, Russia, India and China BRIC stock markets. It will seek to outperform the total return performance of indices, typically dominated by large company stocks. The Investment Adviser seeks to use financial derivative instruments in ways that can help enhance return and assist the fund in achieving its investment objectives. HSBC GIF Economic Scale Index GEM Equity The fund invests primarily in securities that are included in the HSBC Economic Scale Index GEM. The fund uses an optimization strategy involving the acquisition of a subset of the component securities to track the GEM Index. It may also invest in financial derivative instruments for hedging purposes only. HSBC GIF Euroland Equity The fund seeks long-term growth by investing primarily in a well diversified portfolio of investments in equity and equity equivalent securities of any European Monetary Union (EMU) member country. The Investment Adviser seeks to use financial derivative instruments in ways that can help enhance return and assist the fund in achieving its investment objectives. The fund invests primarily in larger, established companies. HSBC GIF Euroland Equity Smaller Companies The fund seeks long-term growth by investing primarily in a well diversified portfolio of investments in equity and equity equivalent securities of smaller, less-established companies in Euroland countries (Eurozone). It also seeks to invest in other Regulated Market of European Economic Union. It seeks to invest almost exclusively across a range of capitalizations exceeding EUR 1 billion. The Investment Adviser seeks to use financial derivative instruments in ways that can help enhance return and assist the fund in achieving its investment objectives. HSBC GIF European Equity The fund is designed as a core regional holding investing predominantly in large and medium-sized companies and with no targeted bias towards growth or value styles. It is managed according to a rigorous and proprietary investment process based on fundamental research conducted by an experienced team. The manager is seeking to outperform through superior stock selection within the European equity market. HSBC GIF Global Emerging Markets Equity The fund offers investors access to the potentially exciting long-term investment opportunities that exist within global emerging markets. The investment team who are backed by over 200 emerging markets investment professionals located in 14 countries* utilizes a well-established investment process focused on bottom-up stock selection and in-depth stock analysis. Bonds Global Bond Funds HSBC GIF Emerging Inflation Linked Bond The fund offers investors exposure to emerging market growth while providing protection against rising inflation in emerging countries. Invests in a diversified portfolio of debt securities whose returns are linked to an inflation factor and are issued or guaranteed by governments, and supranational bodies of Emerging Markets. The fund s holdings will be primarily denominated in local currencies and, on an ancillary basis, in EUR and USD. The fund will also implement active currency overlay through the use of financial derivative instruments such as forwards currency contracts and non-deliverable forwards. HSBC GIF Global Bond The fund seeks to provide an attractive total return through investing in global fixed income markets and currencies. Active management of duration, allocations and issue selection across US, Asian and European treasuries, quasi-government, corporates and US Agency MBS. The investing team benefits from the global fixed income rates forum and the extensive global credit research team. HSBC GIF Global Emerging Markets Bond This fund seeks to capture the rapid growth and improving credit quality of emerging economies and take advantage of the yield premium offered by these countries. Invests predominantly in emerging market sovereign, quasi-sovereign and corporate bonds denominated in hard currency (USD). Tactical use of emerging market local currency opportunities offer potential for alpha generation. Key drivers of performance include spread compression and yield. HSBC GIF Global Emerging Markets Corporate Debt The fund seeks to capture the rapid growth and improving credit quality of corporations in emerging economies. Invests predominantly in hard currency corporate and quasi-sovereign bonds in a universe that has stronger issuance and higher credit quality than the emerging market sovereign universe. The fund offers a yield premium to emerging market sovereign bonds as well as similar-quality developed market corporate bonds. The fund benefits from HSBC s extensive global fixed income credit platform which is an integral factor in properly assessing emerging market corporate bonds. 14

Bonds HSBC GIF Global Emerging Markets Debt Total Return This fund is managed on a total return basis without benchmark and flexible access to the full emerging markets debt opportunity set. Active allocation decisions taken to select the optimal combination of assets and seeks to capture the upside of emerging markets while limiting the downside and reducing volatility normally associated with emerging markets. Invests predominantly in hard currency sovereign, quasi-sovereign and corporate bonds, local bonds and currencies.
