Loan «Account_Number_2» Dear «First_Name_3»: People s United Bank, N.A. is very concerned about the difficulty you are having in making your mortgage payment(s) and we want to help you find an acceptable solution. The right option for you depends on your individual circumstances. If you are not able to continue paying your mortgage, your best option may be to find more affordable housing. As an alternative to foreclosure, you may be able to sell your home and use the proceeds to pay off your current loan. We have enclosed examples of options that may be available along with other important information regarding the Notice of Right to Receive a Copy of Appraisal; Servicemembers Civil Relief Act Notice; Notice of Housing Counselor Information; Notice of Information Request and Error Resolution. To help us determine if you qualify for assistance, please take action by completing and returning this entire Financial Analysis Packet along with all required supporting documents. Please return all of the documents together so that we can more quickly determine whether you qualify for assistance. Use the enclosed Financial Analysis Packet Instructions to ensure you have completed all required forms and provide the right information. Remember, you need to take action by completing and returning the entire Financial Analysis Packet along with all required supporting documents within fourteen (14) days from the date of this letter. Failing to return the information can indicate you are not interested in any assistance. If you cannot provide the documentation within fourteen (14) days, cannot locate some or all of the required documents, or have any questions or need assistance, please contact us toll free at (800) 463-0416 or our mailing address is People s United Bank, N.A. Attn: Credit Collections P.O. Box 820 Burlington, VT 05402-0820. Call us today if you have any questions. The sooner you respond, the more quickly we can determine whether you qualify for assistance. Sincerely, Credit Collections Page 1 of 9 Rev. 02/7/17

Mortgage Programs Are Available to Help If you need help, the following options may be possible subject to our approval. Not all borrowers will qualify for the listed options. We cannot guarantee that you will receive any or a particular type of assistance. Options may include refinancing or modifying your mortgage to make your payments and terms more manageable, for instance, lowering your monthly payment to make it more affordable. Or, if you have missed a few payments, you may qualify for a temporary (or permanent) solution to help you get your finances back on track. If you are not able to continue paying your mortgage, your best option may be to find more affordable housing. As an alternative to foreclosure, you may be able to sell your home and use the proceeds to pay off your current loan. Depending on your circumstances, staying in your home may not be possible. However, a short sale or deed-in-lieu of foreclosure may be a better choice than foreclosure see the table below for more information: OPTION OVERVIEW BENEFIT Refinance Receive a new loan with us or another lender Makes your payment or terms more affordable Reinstatement Pay the total amount you owe, in a lump sum payment and by a specific date. This may follow a forbearance plan as described below Allows you to avoid foreclosure by bringing your mortgage current if you can show you have funds that will become available at a specific date in the future Repayment Plan Modification Short Sale Deed-in-Lieu of Foreclosure Pay back your past-due payments together with your regular payments over an extended period of time Receive temporary or permanent modified terms of your mortgage to make it more affordable or manageable. Prior to or at the time of payoff the bank will collect a satisfaction fee, plus any late fees, property inspection, municipal or town recording fees, appraisal fees, legal expenses and/or bank collection costs incurred. Repayment of these charges or fees is due at maturity or payoff and will not appear on your monthly billing statements. Sell your home and pay off a portion of your mortgage balance when you owe more on the home than it is worth Transfer the ownership of your property to us Important Information Allows you time to catch up on late payments without having to come up with a lump sum Permanently or temporarily modifies your mortgage so that your payments or terms are more manageable as a short-term or permanent solution to a hardship Allows you to transition out of your home without going through foreclosure Allows you to transition out of your home without going through foreclosure. This is useful when there are no other liens on your property Servicemembers Civil Relief Act Notice Notice of Housing Counselor Information Servicemembers on active duty or active service or a spouse or dependent of such a servicemember may be entitled to certain legal protections and debt relief pursuant to the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act. Please refer to the SCRA Notice Disclosure previously provided to you. For help exploring your options, the federal government provides contact information for housing counselors, which you can access by contacting Consumer Financial Protection Bureau s website at www.consumerfinance.gov/find-a-housing-counselor and enter your zip code. You can also access HUD s housing counseling agency website via www.hud.gov/offices/hsg/sfh/hcc/hcs.cfm or by calling the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development at 1-800-569-4287for a list of approved housing counseling agencies in your area.
