QUOTING A PRICE FOR POWERGARD There are a number of ways to quote a price for the various PowerGard options. INTRANET CALCULATOR This is a quick and easy way to quote the PowerGard Protection Plan without having to first process a delivery receipt. Our web site is linked from Deere DealerPath under PowerGard Protection, or our direct web site URL is: https://ew.deere.com/extwrnty/angularjs/index.html?env=p#/agtchome/agtcneworusedcalculator On the Tractor Program home page, you will also find Calculator links on the upper right hand side navigation. There are calculators for New/Used Units, and Upgrades (PIN-driven). A delivery receipt must be processed in order for PowerGard to be loaded in the Contract Purchase application in the PowerGard site. PRICING PAGES The Pricing Pages can now be generated right from the PPP Calculators! Just pick your Product Type, then the price model group of the model you are quoting, then the specific model, then the coverage type, plan term desired, purchase period (Grace or Delayed Purchase Period), and if Plan B Used, the hour range the unit currently falls into, then click Calculate. All plan term options and pricing (MDP and List) will appear in the table at the bottom. To get pricing for that product and coverage in one document, just click the Generate Price Sheet button in the upper right hand corner. That will launch a PDF file that you can save or print.
SALES TIPS: Remember to offer PowerGard before you finalize your deal. It is easier and more economic to include PowerGard costs in the payments up front. Present the cost of PowerGard as either dollars per hour or dollars per month to break down the cost into something more measurable than a total dollar amount of the contract/coverage. If customer rejects PowerGard, request customer to: o Check the rejection box and initial on the John Deere Purchase Order, o Check the rejection box and provide signature on the PowerGard Proposal Document which is generated off the on-line calculator, or o Check the rejection box on the PowerGard Accept/Decline form, found in the lower link in the left side navigation bar on the PowerGard Protection home page. DETERMINATION OF THE COST OF POWERGARD The cost of the product varies based on the following risk/coverage characteristics: 1. PowerGard Price Model/Rating Group (by tractor Series/Model #s) 2. Coverage Type desired (Limited or Comprehensive) 3. Plan Term Option desired (Total Months/Total Hours) 4. *Use of the Tractor Tractors designated for Commercial Scraper Applications require a surcharge charge of 2.75 times the base cost shown on the Pricing Pages (effective 4/1/05 and after) for the Limited (engine & powertrain) coverage. Comprehensive (full machine) coverage form is not available for tractors used in scraper applications. 5. Purchase eligibility parameters and hours on the machine (Plan A (in warranty) Grace vs. Delayed Period, or Plan B (beyond warranty), 6. Canadian Additive Application (apply the current CA to any quotes in Canada). 7. Dealer Margin (mark-up over MDP Cost) We suggest a 25% mark-up from the dealer based cost as reflected in all Protection Fees /List Prices in the Calculators and Contract Purchase system.
