The Check Calculator AN EMPLOYEE S BFF Our Web Pay Check Calculator is a complete self-service payroll tool that empowers employees to view what the outcome of their check will be based on the changes made. Employees can calculate take-home pay for hypothetical raises, adjustments in 401(k) contribution amount, changes in premium deductions for health and dental insurance and similar scenarios by plugging in the required numbers into the calculator. Navigate to Payroll > Check Calculator WHAT IF S.. CHANGE IN TAXES At the end of last year you owed a lot of money to Uncle Sam for income tax. To avoid that this year you would like to adjust your tax withholding but you would like to see how that change will affect your net pay each pay period. Defaults to Block Recurring Earnings and Deductions. o Uncheck to allow all earnings and deductions normally on your paycheck to add/deduct from your gross pay. Gross to Net For Salaried Employees Verify Salary is correct. o Auto Pay will typically be checked. Check Auto Pay if unchecked. o Salaried Employees may also have Base Rate displayed. For Hourly Employees Verify Base Rate is correct. Default Hours -- Checked if you automatically receive 40.0 hours per paycheck. EARNINGS TAB Earnings For Salaried Employees Verify Salary is correct. o If Auto Pay is checked, Salary will be automatically added. Skip to Taxes Tab. o If Auto Pay is unchecked, skip to below. For Hourly Employees Verify Base Rate is correct. For Salaried Employees Select EREG - Regular from Earning Code dropdown. o Enter Salary Amount in Amount column. For Hourly Employees Select EREG - Regular from Earning Code dropdown. o Enter normal number of hours worked per pay period in Hours column, e.g., 40.0. o Enter your hourly base rate in Rate column. DEDUCTIONS TAB Verify all recurring Deduction Codes are unchecked. TAXES TAB Taxes Verify Taxation is Standard. Verify Tax Frequency is set to your pay frequency how often you get paid. Make necessary changes to tax information for any affected Tax Codes.

o o o Select Filing Status using drop down. Enter number of Exemptions you would like to claim. Enter Amount Type Default Amount Standard taxation for Filing Status and Exemptions selected. Flat Dollar Amount Select if you want to override standard taxation and have only the amount entered in the Amount field taken out of each paycheck. Flat Percentage Select if you want to override standard taxation and have only the percentage of taxable wages entered in the Percentage field taken out each paycheck. Flat Dollar Amount Plus Fixed Percentage Select if you want to override standard taxation and have the amounts entered in the Amount field and the percentage of taxable wages entered in the Percentage field taken out of each paycheck. Additional Flat Select to add an additional flat dollar amount to the normal taxation withheld and enter dollar amount in Amount field. Additional Percentage Select to add a percentage of taxable wages to the normal taxation withheld and enter percentage in Percentage column. Additional Flat Plus Additional Percentage Select to add an additional flat dollar amount and a percentage of taxable wages to the normal taxation withheld. Blocked Select when no tax amount should be taken but the employee s wages are still reflected as taxable. Note: Enter percentages in whole numbers (enter 15% as 15).
