IMIA is a network of experts in Engineering Insurance from around the world who share experiences, investigate and discuss emerging and critical issues and elaborate papers discussing all kinds of topics of Engineering Insurance. Our core value is to offer a forum for understanding and promoting best practice in the field of Engineering Insurance and to provide all information and documents freely to the Engineering Insurance Community on the IMIA website www.imia.com 2
MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN IMIA is constantly expanding its range of activities, its international reach and always welcomes new applications of experts in Engineering Insurance for membership In 2014 116 delegates attended the 47 th annual conference in Cannes in France in September made up of insurers, reinsurers, national associations, associate members (adjusters, brokers and lawyers) At this conference working group papers were presented on topics ranging from Solar Thermal Power Plants to Smart Grids changing the risk landscape There were guest papers, panel discussions and break out sessions for discussing special topics. 32 delegates attended this year IMIA s annual engineering underwriting academy in Berlin IMIA s website is being constantly developed and new information added News letters are circulated to members at intervals during each year IMIA supports and participates in the launch of market initiatives such as the DSU worksheet. I am pleased to report that IMIA continues to go from strength to strength thanks to the support and contributions of its members and hard working Executive Committee and last not least the secretariat. 3
