Papier Art Fair Dedicated exclusively to the promotion of artworks on paper and revealing the various forms of this rich and versatile medium, Papier is one of the most important fairs of its kind in North America. Organized by the Contemporary Art Galleries Association (AGAC), the fair s mandate is to stimulate the dissemination of artworks that engage or are related to the medium of paper. The fair s goal is to foster the public s interest in visual arts and encourages the emergence of new contemporary art collectors. In 2017, Papier attracted 17 000 visitors, 39 canadian galleries and more than 300 artists. Located in the heart of Griffintown, a trendy neighborhood next to downtown Montreal, this beautiful space is dedicated to disseminating, promoting and developing contemporary art. Arsenal Contemporary Art is housed in a former shipyard founded in 1853, which was home to several light industries over the years. In 2011, the Arsenal Contemporary Art Foundation transformed the building, devoting it exclusively to contemporary art. 2020 William St. Montréal (QC) H3J 1R8 1/6

Booth specifications Wall space: Surface area: Wall height: Lighting: Furniture: starting from 40 linear feet 192 square feet 10 feet exhibitors must use exclusively the lighting provided by AGAC and will be homogeneous for all the booths. AGAC provides two chairs and one table (2 x 4 ). Any additional furniture must be provided by the exhibitor, and is subject to the approval of the organizer. Additional booth options will be offered to exhibitors upon receiving the application acceptance. Participation rules 1. Registration & Payment 1.1 Fees and methods of payment Booth cost : $ 4,800 + taxes 15% discount on the booth cost for AGAC s regular members. 10% discount on the booth cost for AGAC s junior and associate members. Canadian currency only. Cheques are payable to Association des galeries d art contemporain or AGAC. Please note that a non-refundable administrative fee of $ 250 will be substracted from the deposit. If your application is not selected for Papier, $ 750 of the deposit will be refunded within 30 days following the refusal letter. There are 3 installments for the application process. The first payment is made when the application is submitted on November 23, 2017, the second payment is due on January 12, 2018 and the final payment on April 2, 2018. Any changes on the payment calendar must be approved in written contract beforehand by the organizer. If on April 2, 2018 the annual membership is not settled, the full booth cost will be charged. In order to have access to your booth, all the invoices of the exhibitors must be paid in full prior to the fair. 1.2 Content of the application To ensure your participation at Papier Art Fair, the organizer must receive your application by November 23, 2017 at the latest. Only the official application form will be accepted. Valid registration forms must be duly completed and signed. Pages 3-6 of this form and the $ 1,000 payment must be sent to the organizer. 2. Cancellation 2.1 Fees If the exhibitor does not respect the payments deadlines, the organizer has the right to cancel the contract without further notice and without refunding the paid amount and request the full payment of the booth at the regular price. The exhibitor may withdraw from the fair at any time. However, if the cancellation is made after being officially admitted, 50% of the booth cost (regular price) will be charged. After January 12, 2018, the full price of the booth at regular price will be charged. 2.2 Force majeure In the event that the fair is cancelled, cut short or postponed at a later date, the participant does not have the right to claim damages under any circumstances. In the case of cancellation by the organizer for exceptionnal reasons, the participants will be reimbursed in full, except for the $ 250 administrative fee. 3. Booth location The organizer reserves the right to determine the location of the participants booths at his discretion. The exhibitors do not have the right to request a particular location or placement, nor to transfer all or part of their booth to a third party. 4. Set-up - Take down 4.1 Set up is on Wednesday April 18, 2018 and Thursday April 19, 2018. A detailed schedule will be provided in the exhibitor guide. 4.2 All participants are responsible for the presentation of their respective artworks. 4.3 The participant is responsible for any damage that occurs during the event (including the set-up and take down). 4.4 Take down must be completed by Sunday April 22 at 10pm. 5. Insurance & Agreement 5.1 Liability insurance - mandatory (covers injury and damage to a third party, not artwork) Participants must be insured against any legal liability incurred with respect to bodily injury or property damage to third parties as a result of your operations at Papier Art Fair for a minimum limit of $3 million per occurence. 5.2 Insurance certificate request AGAC may provide exhibitors with a liability insurance coverage. The form Insurance Certificate Request will be provided with the acceptance letter. If the participant does not provide a copy of their liability insurance as of January 12, 2018, they will automatically be charged for the liability insurance coverage provided by the organizer. 5.3 Agreement Exhibitors agrees, to the fullest extent permitted by law, to indemnify, defend and hold AGAC, its directors, officers, partners, agents, employees and volunteers harmless from and against all claims, damages, losses, theft, suits, judgments, actions and expenses (including attorney s fees and costs) arising from any act, error, omission or breach by the exhibitor, their employees or other persons within the exhibitor, their employees or other persons within exhibitor s control in connection with their participation in the fair. 6. Applicable laws The present agreement is governed by the provincial laws of Quebec. Any litigation between the parties relating to the interpretation or application of the contract which can not be settled amicably, will be brought before the courts of the judicial district of the city of Montreal.
