AE Frequently Asked Questions: 1. Who is my target customer? Any merchant that has any number of employees that are still receiving paper checks. When reviewing the probing questions please note the responses from the merchant regarding distribution of checks and any pain points. In a number of instances, employees have special circumstances that do not allow for them to receive their paychecks timely due to shift differences or time-off. Money Network is a great tool to get around this issue for the employer and employee. 2. Who should I target within the business? The owners of the business but also their accounting/pay roll department head. Where do your leads come from? Any employee that works for a business that is still receiving paper checks is a great candidate. They can direct you to the right people to speak with about the MN product which provides the opportunity to speak about credit card processing. 3. Are there effective numbers of employees that would quantify this product? Typically any number of employees that are not receiving a paycheck via direct deposit qualifies for this product. A good measure would be 10 employees or higher. If the merchant has 500+ employees that are receiving paper checks please contact Jeff Johnson for further assistance with the implementation. The fast-track program is not suitable for the type of implementation needed. 4. What probing questions do I ask the merchant to see if the Money Network product fits? a. Do you have direct deposit setup today? b. Do you still issue paper checks? c. How many employees do you have that are receiving paper checks? d. Do you have any feel for why your employees still receive paper checks versus going to direct deposit (if the employer offers the service)? e. How often do your employees get paid? (I.e. weekly, bi-weekly, monthly) f. How do you distribute the checks (I.e. Fed Ex needed, manager distribution) g. How do your employees cash their checks? (I.e. check cashing places, Wal-Mart, Banks) 5. What paperwork needs to be signed by the merchant? The fee schedule needs to be signed by the merchant and faxed to World Payment Services for processing.
6. Where do I fax the signed paperwork? (866) 404-3590 7. What happens after I submit the paperwork? The implementation time frame is as follows: 1. MN receives a fax of the signed and completed Fee Structure from the client. 2. MN places a call to the contact listed on the signed Fee Structure the same day we receive the fax. 3. Upon reaching the contact, MN talks thru the implementation process and receives a count of the number of cards the client needs for their checked employees. 4. Email sent to the payroll contact upon receiving the signed Agreement: 1. Welcome Letter 2. Instructions on what to do with the package containing the cards 3. FAQ s 4. Fee Schedule 5. Card Re-Order Form 6. How to on card usage 5. MN packages up, sends the cards and supporting materials within 48 hours of the call with the client s contact. 6. MN ships by FedEx 2-day delivery. 7. The client is now in control of the speed by which they send in their completed enrollment forms. 8. MN enters enrollments the same day as received if by 3:00PM CDT. Once all data is entered into our system, MN sets up a confirmation email to go back to the client to let them know they can start electronic deposit into the accounts. 9. The whole process from initial contact to deposit into the pay card accounts can be done within 2 weeks if the client moves quickly on sending in enrollments on their checked employees. 10. Note: Its best if the employer designates a resource to collect all enrollment forms from the employees to send to MN versus allowing the employees to do so when available. The participation has been proven to be higher if the employer continues to talk to the employees about completing the enrollment forms. 8. How long does it take for a merchant to be implemented? 2-4 weeks 9. What is the merchant s responsibility with this product? The merchant is responsible for paying for the kits for their employees, distributing the kits, and ensuring that their employees understand the program benefits so that the enrollment forms are submitted. Additionally, the merchant would add the employees to their normal direct deposit pay-roll file for ACH funds distribution.
10. What is the responsibility of the employee? Complete the enrollment application by providing the important pieces of information: Name Social Security Number Date of birth US Address Begin using the Money Network branded card to receive funds from ATMs or make purchases as pin debit. Upgrade to the Visa branded card if desired by calling the 800# on the back of the card. Review their statement either online or paper statement 11. Can another number be supplied by the employee outside of their Social Security Number? Yes, an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) can be supplied, which is issued by the Internal Revenue Service. For more information on an ITIN please refer the merchant to their Taxpayer consultant and/or visit www.irs.gov. 12. Is there an age minimum to participate in the Money Network program? Yes Money Network STAR branded card 16 yrs old Money Network STAR and VISA branded card 18 yrs old 13. Is the card attached to a Bank Account? Yes, Meta Bank is the backing Bank for this product. An aba / dda are setup for the consumer/employee on the back-end which allows the funds to be credited to the card through the ACH process. The employee does not receive access to write personal checks outside of the MN bounce-less checks distributed in the kits. 14. During the verification process of the employee to upgrade to a VISA branded card, are the credit databases reviewed prior to approval? No, the verification process is ensuring that the social security number and other pieces of information provided matches up with the information on the database. 15. Does the employee receive a statement? The employee can review their statement online OR they may opt to receive paper statements if needed. Please note that a nominal fee applies to the employee for receiving a paper statement through the mail.

What is the number for employee assistance once they are enrolled? Money Network s Cardholder Customer Service which is available 24x7x365 and can be reached by dialing 1-888-913-0900. This number is also on each card that is provided to the merchant s employees. *DO NOT PROVIDE THIS NUMBER TO A MERCHANT PRIOR TO THEM SIGNING THE FEE SCHEDULE. THIS NUMBER IS FOR MONEY NETWORK CUSTOMER S ONLY. 19. How does a merchant cancel the program? The merchant does not actually cancel the program because there might be cards still in circulation that have a balance. If the card remains inactive for 90 days, MN will add a fee to the account to diminish the balance to $0. Once the balance is $0, the card will be deactivated. 20. Is there a contract length or cancellation fee? No, the merchant can stop depositing funds on the employee s cards without notice to MN or First Data. 21. Is there a setup fee for the Money Network product? Yes, $50 setup fee which is charged by Money Network directly via an invoice. This includes the setup of the MN account, the shipping for the kits via Fed Ex 2 day, and also includes 10 free kits to the merchant.
22. How much are additional card kits? $2 per kit which is invoiced directly by MN when the kits are sent to the merchant 23. Who ships the card kits out and how long does that take for shipment? MN ships the card kits once the fee schedule is signed and received which is typically within 3 business days of receipt. 24. How is the merchant billed for the kits? MN invoices the merchant directly 25. What is included in the shipping package to the merchant? The card kits and the enrollment application form are included. The merchant is provided instructions advising to make copies of the enrollment form for the number of checked employees who will be issued a card kit. 26. What is included in the card kits? The card kits include the following items for the employee: 1. Money Network and STAR branded card with its carrier 2. Fee schedule 3. How to guide 4. 3 Money Network checks 5. USA PATRIOT Act Disclosure 6. Privacy Act Disclosure 7. T&C s 27. If the merchant has more than one location, what paperwork do I need to submit? If the merchant has multiple locations but has different tax ids a setup form needs to be signed for each location by the merchant. IF the merchant has multiple locations but the same tax id then the setup is handled by Money Network during the initial phone call and no action by AE outside of having the setup form signed is required. 28. How do I find out the status of an account? Money Network will send a Status Report to each ISO contact listed on the Coversheet that is submitted to them. 29. Can I ask for special pricing on the kits? NO SPECIAL PRICING IS ALLOWED ON THIS PRODUCT; KITS ARE $2 A PIECE AND IS NON-NEGOTIABLE.
30. What ATM charges are billed to the employee? The employee receives 1 free ATM withdrawal and then is charged $1.50 for each one after. If the ATM that the employee is withdrawing money from charges a surcharge the employee will be subject to those fees as well. For instance, if the ATM surcharge is $2.00 the employee would be charged a total of $3.50 for that withdrawal. 31. How are the ATM fees billed to the employee? The ATM surcharge is billed during the withdrawal just as normal. The $1.50 is also billed to the employee at the time of the transaction and is listed on the employee s monthly statement that is viewed online or via paper. 32. How does the escheatment of funds work on the STAR branded card? Money Network monitors the cards for each State to comply with the various requirements. If the STAR card becomes inactive and reaches the timeframes for that particular State to receive the funds, MN will automatically provide that service for the merchant. 33. How does the escheatment of funds work on the portable VISA card? The Visa branded card has a monthly maintenance fee of $2.95. If the card becomes inactive (no further deposits or transactions), the $2.95 will still be deducted on a monthly basis until the card has a $0.00 balance. At that point the card will be deactivated. 34. Can the payroll card be mandated? The merchant needs to due their due diligence in researching their State laws regarding state labor and banking laws and regulations permit employers to mandate the use. In their research they should consider whether it may be mandated as a condition of employment of the goal is to be 100% electronic. Additionally, can it be mandated for current employees, new hires, both, or neither should be considered as well. 35. What are the four states that Money Network is not completely compliant in yet and why aren t they? New Hampshire New Jersey The above two states require employees to have the option of a paper check that can be cashed for free at a Bank in the specific state. Money Network offers free check cashing in all 50 states but lacks the compliance of having a Bank offer it for free in these four states.
36. How is the PIN setup? How is it changed? The PIN is set up by calling the toll free # 888.913.0900; the IVR will recognize a new cardholder & assist in the setup of the PIN. The PIN is changed through the IVR system. (same number mentioned above). 37. How can they check their balance? Phone? On-Line? ATM? Is there a charge? Balances can be checked on-line, IVR phone, auto text messaging. There is a charge to the cardholder for accessing balance via ATM. The fee is the same as an ATM withdrawal - $1.50. 38. How does the initial money get put on the card? ACH direct deposit by the Employer. 39. Does the Money Network system ever go down? No, the system never goes down. There are redundant (and back-up) systems in place similar to First Data. 40. So if the card is not used in 90 days the card goes dormant then what happens? The card is ported to an account maintenance platform in which the card account will receive a $2.95 monthly maintenance fee until the balance is zeroed out & the account is the closed. 41. What are the statistics on how many people take all their money on the first use? 4-5% via MN Check 4-5% ACH transfer to hometown bank account 42. Can the employer see the balance on the employee s card? No, the employer is not allowed to see (or know) the balance on the employee s card
