FINANCIAL TRANSACTION TRACKING AND ANALYSIS COMMERCIAL REAL ESTATE SAMPLE ENGAGEMENT A large family owned commercial real estate company having significant properties in New Orleans experienced damage to multiple properties. The net settlement from the insurers exceeded $100,000,000. Alan Gray was hired to compile the application of the insurance proceeds to the damaged properties. We obtained the respective construction contracts, change orders, job cost sheets, contractors requests for payments and owner s banking information and were able to determine with reasonable certainty that all of the insurance proceeds received were expended in connection with repair and reconstruction. 8

FINANCIAL TRANSACTION TRACKING AND ANALYSIS MISAPPROPRIATION SAMPLE ENGAGEMENT A major financial service company needed a forensic accounting review to quantify a misappropriation by a reinsurance broker. Over $100,000,000 in misappropriated funds was identified. Alan Gray's staff were instrumental in assembling the required support that led to a substantial recovery and prosecution. 9

BUSINESS INTERRUPTION INFLATED COST VALUES SAMPLE ENGAGEMENT During demolition, the Carrier's Insured caused a chimney to fall through the ceiling of an adjacent retail establishment severing the water feed to the sprinkler system. AG examined the BI claim and the documents advanced in support of the claim. The examination uncovered considerable overreach by way of inflated cost values and claims for items and components that were either not damaged and or were not originally in the store at the time of the accident. Of the original demand of $2.5M, savings in excess of $600K were realized. 10
