Both of them have the same background. The put allows the hedger to choose the notional of the cashflows to pay and the rate part, as multiplier, takes part of the rate sensitivity - due to the discount of all the cashflows. The two structures are made for two different purposes with different convexities for each. Hybrid option appropriate for GMWB hedging PAYOFF 3: leverage on rate * put.
