8 9 A Hybrid Advisor Has the Best of Both Worlds A Hybrid advisor is registered with both a broker/dealer and an RIA. Dual registration allows independent financial professionals to provide commissionable products through a broker/dealer and fee-based advice under the RIA. Advisors may choose to leverage a corporate RIA or establish an independent RIA firm that they own and operate for all their fee-based business. HYBRID RIA MODEL Why is the Hybrid model important? Clients, particularly high-networth clients, are becoming more sophisticated and their needs are becoming increasingly complex. A Hybrid advisor is better suited to offer a broad range of advice or commission strategies and solutions. A Hybrid advisor can provide sound guidance on all aspects of a client s financial position, including wealth management and intergenerational transfer.

We anticipated the need to support Hybrid advisors when we opened our doors in 1998. 26 ADVISORY SERVICES - CORPORATE RIA ADVISORY SERVICES - CORPORATE RIA 27 Corporate RIA Advisors may choose to utilize a corporate RIA structure and let Triad handle the regulatory aspects of RIA ownership such as ADV maintenance and regulatory audit preparations. Some advisors may prefer to make the corporate RIA a permanent home. Others may utilize a corporate structure until they have the time, resources and knowledge to establish their own RIA entity. Advisors may select from two corporate RIA options: Triad Hybrid Solutions Hybrid Solutions is a corporate RIA entity, allowing advisors access to fee-only custodial platforms such as Schwab Institutional, Fidelity Institutional Wealth Services or TD Ameritrade, while enjoying access to commissionable products and brokerage services through Triad Advisors Broker/Dealer. The Hybrid Solutions team acts as a single point of contact for all advisors operational and technology needs. Features include: ADV and SEC Registration Fee Billing Triad Advisors RIA Triad Advisors RIA is a corporate RIA structure providing access to the Triad Advisory Services platform with NFS acting as custodian. Triad provides advisors and their clients with a single back-office experience for both commissionand fee-based assets complete with operational and compliance support. Without losing their own branding, advisors may choose to manage accounts themselves or utilize third-party investment managers. They may provide financial planning and other consultative services under the corporate RIA.
