Industrial Training Fund Act () 0 No. C A BILL FOR An Act to Amend the Industrial Training Fund Act, Cap. Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 00; and for Related Matters Sponsored by Senator Kamaorudeen Adedibu 0 [ ] Be it Enacted by the National Assembly of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as follows:. The Industrial Training Fund Act Cap. Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 00 (in this Bill referred to as lithe Principal Act ) is amended as set out in this Bill.. Section l (c) of the Principal Act is amended by substituting for the words Federal Ministry of Industry in line the words its parent ministry. Utilization of the fund.. Substitute for section of the Principal Act a new section.. The fund shall be utilized to (a) provide, promote and encourage the acquisition of skills in industry and commerce with a view to generating a pool of indigenous trained manpower sufficient to meet the need of the private and public sectors of the economy; (b) provide training for skills in management for technical and enterprenual development in the public and private sectors of the economy; (c) set training standards in all sectors of the economy and monitor adherence; and (d) evaluate and certify vocational skills acquired by apprentices, craftsmen and technicians in collaboration with relevant organisations.. () The Minister may, with the prior approval of the Federal Executive Council, appoint a fit person to be called the Director-General of the Industrial Training Fund who shall be the Chief Executive and Administrative Head of the Fund and shall, subject to the directions of the Council, be responsible for (a) the assessment of contributions under this Act and for the collection and payment of monies into the Fund; (b) the payment of all disbursements authorised under or by virtue of this Act; (c) accounting for all monies collected, paid or otherwise expanded under this Act; and (d) ensuring the achievement of the aims of this Act. of all () There shall be a Management Committee consisting (a) Heads of Department; (b) Heads of Legal, Public Relations and Audit Units; and (c) any other officer who may be determined by the Director- General. () The Council may, from time to time, appoint officers, agents or employees of the Fund to assist the Director-General in the performance of his duties under this Act, who shall be subject to the general control of the Director-General.
