Bestinvest Top Rated Funds Review Introduction To cater to those seeking investment inspiration online investment service Bestinvest, publish their Premier selection or Top Rated funds list twice every year. This list showcases funds they rate between 3 and 5 star which they believe to be of the highest quality. Rivalling the Hargreaves Lansdown s Wealth 150 and Fidelity s Select 50 recommended funds lists, the Bestinvest top rated funds list holds significant bearing among many DIY investors when it comes to making fund choices. With a total of 262 funds (which includes both income & accumulation fund type) rated between 3 and 5 stars, their Top Rated funds list is more than double the size of their rivals. To identify the performance and ranking of each of these funds our research team analysed each fund over the recent 1, 3 & 5 years. As detailed in this report less than 8% of the funds they favour have consistently maintained a level of performance that was better than 75% of competing same sector funds, with the majority of funds underperforming.

How Yodelar s Empowering investors with factual fund research, insights and information Yodelar continually review the performance and ranking of fund managers and their funds, helping investors to clearly identify the quality of all investment funds. Fund Colour Definitions Funds that rank in the top 25% in their sector for performance Funds that rank in the top 50% in their sector for performance Funds that rank in the bottom 50% in their sector for performance Funds that rank in the bottom 25% in their sector for performance Based on how a fund ranks over the most recent 1, 3 and 5 year period they will be classified as a TOP MEDIOCRE or POOR performing fund. Top Performing Funds Yodelar classifies a top-performing fund as a fund that has consistently performed better than 75% of competing funds within the relevant sector. All consistently top performing funds will only have a purple colour code. Mediocre Performing Funds A fund will be classified as mediocre performing if at anytime during the 1, 3 and 5-year period analysed they had performed worse than the top 25% of competing funds but maintained a ranking which was better than the remaining 50% of competing funds. Poor Performing Funds Yodelar classifies a poor performing fund as one which has performed worse than 50% of competing funds at anytime over the most recent 1, 3 and 5 year periods. Funds that have a yellow or a red colour code will be classified as poor performing. All fund information provided in this report is factual and accurate as of the time of completion.
