These marketing materials are designed to help you get started quickly in your WFG business and make a strong, positive impression on the clients and prospects you meet.

The materials featured in this brochure are just a select group that are designed to help you get started quickly in your WFG business and make a strong, positive impression on the clients and prospects you meet. 1

The WFG System Manual Item # 1462 WFG System Manual How the WFG Business Platform Works This manual walks an associate through the process of building a WFG business. You will learn how to prospect, how to approach and contact potential new associates, how to run your business presentation meetings, how to follow up with prospects and how to duplicate your efforts for maximum results. This manual helps a new associate get off to a fast start, and can help seasoned field leaders to refresh themselves on the system s steps as they work to take their businesses to the next level. Step 1: Prospecting The Eight Qualifiers 1. 25+ years old 2. Married 3. Dependent children 4. Homeowner 5. Solid business/career background 6. $40,000+ household income 7. Dissatisfied with his/her current situation 8. Entrepreneurial The Top 25 Once the top 25 people who meet most of these qualifiers are identified, transfer their names to the Top 25 Worksheet. Consider how to best approach each person. Identify two or three hot buttons for each person things that he/she really want and need, including problems or areas of dissatisfaction in their life that you believe you and WFG can help them solve. You and your trainer need to know qualities about these contacts to effectively help you see how the contact/ prospect can fit into your business. Some qualities include: Hard worker Entrepreneurial Positive attitude People skills Responsible Coachable Goal-oriented High self esteem Cares for people Strong family unit Focused Track record Expanding Your Warm Market Step 1: Prospecting The more you work in your warm market, the higher success ratios you will generally experience. Occasionally, someone who joins WFG doesn t have a very large natural market or a long-time associate will need to cultivate a new market. You may think you are too busy to have more friends, but this is the lifeblood of your business. Once you have established friendships with these new acquaintances, they will be more open to an invitation. You will also know them better and know what their needs and wants are, and how you and WFG may be able to help. Following are some ways to expand your warm market: Friendship Farming Friendship farming is one way to make new friends and acquaintances to add to your warm market. You should not go out specifically to friendship farm or prospect, but rather just be aware of the people around you in the normal course of your day. Find ways to begin conversations with people. Don t go prospecting; prospect as you go. Be courteous, be genuine, and don t jump the gun with an invitation. Start with the intent of making new friends, rather than the intent of inviting someone. There are four things to keep in mind, in this order, when casually visiting with someone you just met. This is known as FORM. F O R M stands for FAMILY. stands for OCCUPATION. stands for RECREATION. stands for MESSAGE. Find something in common with this person. Discover a reason to connect again later. Some new associates don t want to go into the field until they know everything about the products. Since you are new to the business, you are not yet an expert on financial services, and until you become licensed and appointed, you re not ready to talk to families about products offered by WFG s affiliated companies. As a new associate, you don t need to know it all talking about the products is the role of your trainer. Your role is introducing and edifying your trainer. When you and your trainer combine your strengths, it s a powerful one/two combo. As your product knowledge grows and you attain your licenses, your role as a financial services professional will come together for you, rounding you out as an associate. In the meantime, concentrate on building your warm market, going out on field training calls with your trainer and bringing other new associates into the business. Best Practices Series You need to know that this is your business. You are the owner. Another thing you need to realize is that you are now a business owner. When starting a business, most people often have to invest a large amount of money but WFG requires just a small administrative fee * to start. This small amount causes some new associates not to take full ownership of their business; they don t treat it like something they have invested in. You need to know that this is your business. You are the owner. That is your role from day one. No one will care more about your business then you. Finally, the leaders we spoke to noted that as a new associate you need to be coachable and open to developing yourself. That s why advice and help from those who have done it successfully is so valuable. As a new WFG associate, it s important to get started quickly, get licensed, and build a team, all while learning how to build a successful business. As part of our mentoring business model, we sought the advice of some of our top leaders who have demonstrated success in recruiting and retention. We asked them a simple question: What are the best practices new associates should adhere to? Following is what they had to say. 3

Get to know our language. Generation Each step on the advancement ladder is considered a generation in relation to the people above and below you. Generational Override Once you reach the Senior Marketing Director level, you re eligible to receive overrides for Senior Marketing Directors you develop up to six generations deep. Overrides are the earnings you receive from business produced by the people in your organization. Rolling Time The flexible period (days or months) used to calculate your production for an advancement. For example, a rolling three (3) months from April would include February, March and April. Points The values used for advancements, contests, bonus pools, leaders bulletin rankings and other recognition, which are calculated from the total revenue generated. Our point system, crossing multiple companies and products, is unique to our platform. Points are accumulated based on the type of product sold and the total percentage to the field. As you reach certain preset levels, your commission percentage increases. Because we encourage our associates to reach out to everyone, and not just high earners, there are no limits to how many people you can help. Agency Income As you grow and expand your agency business, you have the opportunity to mentor and coach newly licensed associates. Basic Financial Concepts Knowing and understanding three basic financial concepts can help people have and enjoy financial security. This is what WFG associates teach. Managing Rate and Risk The Rule of 72 7 : If you divide 72 by the rate of return being earned, you will obtain the approximate number of years required for your initial savings to double. $160k For example, the Rule of 72 tells us that an investment earning a constant 8% rate of return should double approximately every 9 years. $80k So, if you made a $10,000 investment at age 29, with an 8% rate of return, it should grow to about $160,000 by age 65.
