Transportation to FC Groningen FC Groningen is the most sustainable football club of Europe. Ever since the foundation of the club, even its club colours have been green. The club sees it as their social responsibility to be sustainable. Some initiatives of the club are: all board members drive electric cars, all food sold during the games is served in biodegradable disposables and FC Groningen continues to reduce its energy consumption. But the club is also investing in society through their charitable work. In September 2010, FC Groningen created their
own foundation (FC Groningen in the society) to help people who need it. The ambition of FC Groningen is clear: They want to be energy neutral in the short term and by 2020 they want to be able to generate clean energy for the stadium and 200.000 households around the stadium.
