Children covered FREE * Half of the annual limit can be claimed towards dental care plan fees. Dependent children are covered if under the age of 16 or 19 if in full time education. We will pay up to a maximum of 20 nights inpatient stay in any three year consecutive benefit period where you have been hospitalised for the same condition. This will not affect your right to claim for inpatient stays related to other conditions. The quoted premium rates are the total cost for cover and are inclusive of Insurance Premium Tax (IPT) at the current rate. Should the rate of IPT change Medicash reserves the right to pass this on subject to prior notification. There are waiting periods for some benefits. Anyone from 16 to 65 years old. No medical is needed and your premiums will not increase because of your age. To apply simply complete the application form attached and return it to us. How do I pay? You can pay direct from your salary through payroll deduction or via Direct Debit. Either way your policy will continue on a monthly basis provided you pay your premiums when due. When will my policy start? For Direct Debit customers your policy will start from the day after we receive your application to join. For Payroll deduction your policy will start from the 1st of the following month from the date that Medicash receives your application. Occasionally, due to how your payroll is processed, this may not be the case. Please speak to your Medicash representative or payroll department if you have any questions regarding this. When can I claim? You can claim straight away for most benefits from the date shown on your Policy Schedule. Some exclusions apply, please see What s not covered? for more details. Please note, for Direct Debit customers Medicash will not release payment for any claims until your first premium has been received. Can I increase my cover? Yes, and you will be able to claim at the higher rates straight away for most benefits. Please note, if you elect to change your level of cover we will take account of your previous claims when we calculate your revised allowances for the remainder of the benefit period. Some exclusions apply, please see What s not covered?. What s not covered? Benefit is not payable in respect of any pre-existing condition for inpatient, hospital daycase or the birth of a child benefits within 12 months from your plan start date; or will be paid at the lower rate for any claims relating to the 12 month period following an amendment to your level of cover. Benefit may also not be claimed if treatment is needed as a result of participation in dangerous sports or through self-inflicted injury. Is my family covered? Our Solo Plan covers you plus up to four dependent children up to the age of 16, or 19 if in full time education. If you also wish to cover your partner you will need to select our Dual Plan. Both plans are available in a range of levels and include cover for children free. Is there a time limit on claims? Yes, claims must be made within 26 weeks of the date that treatment was received or you were discharged from hospital, otherwise we will not accept liability to pay such claims. What if I want to cancel? You can cancel your Medicash plan at any time. If it s less than thirty days since you joined and provided you have not made a claim, we ll refund your first month s payment. What if I have a complaint? We hope you ll always be happy with the service you receive from Medicash, but if you do have a complaint, you can talk directly to our Customer Service Team who ll handle everything on your behalf.
