Introduction Brief Any online user who has signed up for a username and password on ADX website can join a game provided that the game is for the public or if he/she has a password to join the game. This document will take you through the process of joining a game on ADX website and submitting buy or sell orders. Scope The scope of this document will cover the following: Signing up for a user name on ADX website. Joining a game on ADX Website Submitting a buy or sell order Viewing the portfolio and online buy/sell transactions. In details Signing up for a user name on ADX website In order to participate in a game, the user should first have a valid username and password on ADX Website. To sign up on ADX website with a username and password please click on the link shown below (in the red circled area)

Once you click on the above link it will take you to the page below where you have to fill the information provided:

Once you fill the required information and click on continue it will take you to another page to fill up the rest of your information as shown below:

Once you fill the required information and click on continue it will take you to the linking investor number with your online account page (you can skip this step as it is not needed to play the game): Joining an existing game on ADX Website Now that you have a username and password on ADX Website you can join an existing game by clicking on the following link (shown below in the picture):

Once you click on the link shown above, it will take you to a screen listing the current active games as shown below:

Now click on the Join Game link and it will prompt you for a password if the game is password protected, otherwise it will join you to the game if it is not password protected. In our case it is password protected so you will have to enter the password provided to you in the following screen:

Once you enter the password Aduc10 and click on the register link it will take you to the following screen (notice how it says now Leave Game instead of Join game just to confirm that you have joined the game):

Accessing your games Once you have completed the steps above you can access the games you registered in through the following link (under Education Center there will be a submenu called My Games, click on it and it will display the games you are currently registered for):

Now click on the title of the game and it will take you to the following page:

On this page you will see a summary of your holdings with the following fields: Market Status: The status of the market (whether it is closed, pre-open or open state) Beginning Amount: The amount (in AED) provided to you at the beginning of the game Share Value: The amount in AED of the shares you hold in the market Current Game : displays the name of the current game Remaining Cash: Whatever cash you did not use to place buy orders Total: total of the cash you have Placing an order In order to place an order, click on the Place Order link shown below:

Once you click on the link above it will take you to the following screen:

Once you are on this page you have to fill the following fields: Transaction Type: Whether to place a Buy order or a Sell order by selecting the appropriate value from the transaction type drop down list Company: the symbol of the security you want to perform the transaction on No. of shares: The number of shares that you want to buy/sell. If it s a buy order you will have to make sure that the amount of this order is available in the Remaining Cash field on top of the page. If it is a sell order then you have to be sure that you already purchased the shares before hand. Remaining Cash: The available cash in your portfolio to place buy orders Order Type: o Market: in this case you will not provide a buy/sell price for the shares that you want to buy/sell; it will execute the order on the available Best Bid price or the available best Ask price. o Limit: in this case the order will be executed once the market price reaches the price you set in the price field i.e. if you place a buy order then the order will be executed once the price you set is equal to the best bid price available in the market, and if you place a sell order then it will be executed once the price you set is equal to the best ASK price available in the market Price: available only if the order type above is set to Limit. Validity Type: o Day Order: The order will be cancelled at the end of the trading session that the order was placed on if the order was not executed otherwise it will be filled o Good till Cancelled: The order will stay active as long as the game is active and will not be cancelled on the end of the trading session that the order was placed on as in the above Validity Type. Checking your portfolio At anytime if you want to check the current status of your holdings click on the Portfolio link in the tabs (shown below):

It will display the following fields: Symbol: symbol of the security you hold (bought) Qty: Quantity of the symbol that you hold (bought) Price: price that you bought the symbol at MKT. Price: Current price of the symbol in the market Value: Value of the shares that you bought at the time of purchasing (no. of shares * buying price) MKT Value: Current value of the shares you purchased (no. of shares * current market price) Gain / Loss : Amount that you gained or lost (MKT Value value) Gain / Loss % : percentage of the amount you gained / lost At anytime you can sell part or all of the shares you own from the sell link on the left (next to the symbol) Checking the status of your orders At anytime you can check the status of the current or historical orders that you placed in the current game by clicking on the Check Order Status on the link on the tabs shown below:

Depending on the filter you choose the orders that you placed will be shown. If the order is still not filled or cancelled then you have the option of editing or cancelling the order from underneath the Edit Delete field, the fields shown on this page are: Company: the Security name you placed the order for Symbol: the symbol of the Security you placed the order for Price: Current market price of the security Qty: Quantity of the shares that you placed the order for Type: whether it s a buy or sell order Status: o Open: order has not yet been executed so you can edit or cancel the order at any time before it has been filled o Cancelled: The order has been cancelled by you and you cannot reactivate or edit the order, it is just displayed for historical purposes o Filled: the order has been executed in the market and you cannot edit or cancel the order as it has been already filled
