Lydd Partnership Minutes of a Meeting of Lydd Partnership held on 7 th July 2015 at 6pm in the Guildhall Present: Cllr Clive Goddard (Chairman), Cllrs Bob Jones, Ms Vicki Dawson, Mrs Carole Waters, Peter Faulkner, Debra McKenna, Emma Jane Ross, Rocyn Williams, Angela Alexander, Jade McKenna (from 6.30pm) 1. Welcome and introductions The Chairman, Cllr Goddard, welcomed those present to the meeting and in particular to the newly appointed representatives for Lydd Town Council, Cllr Ms Vicki Dawson and the Deputy Mayor, Cllr Bob Jones 2. Apologies for absence Were received from Paul Croft and Pat Carter 3. Minutes of last meeting The minutes of the meeting held on 3 rd June 2015 were signed as a true record. 4. Financial Report a) It was noted that a grant of 200 for towards planting schemes in the Town was received from Lydd Town Council. Angela Alexander confirmed that as LTC had been acting as treasurer the cheque had been banked into Lydd Partnership s account. b) The payment of 27.98 to Cllr Mrs Carole Waters to reimburse her for compost and plants for the old bike was approved and the cheque duly signed. 5. HSIF Leaflet Take One Campaign update (Appendix 1) The latest report on the distribution of the Lydd Partnership brochures was circulated and discussed. Peter Faulkner said that it was encouraging that the number of leaflets to Tourist Information Centres had gone up. Angela said that she had spoken to the manager of Rye Heritage Centre who had the Partnership leaflets on display and he had said that Take One has a very user friendly website where TICs can reorder brochures which arrive promptly.

6. Lydd Partnership Assets (Appendix 2) a) Rocyn Williams said that he had received an enquiry from Friends of Brenzett School who wished to hire the eight stalls but did not have the 80 available to do so. Cllr Goddard said that he had received an enquiry from an organisation with similar difficulties in paying the suggested amount for hire of the stalls and had discussed this with Angela. Following this discussion the recommendation is to keep the hire prices for commercial users but where there is a voluntary group or charity wishing to use the equipment this should be done on a free of charge basis with the request for a sensible to be made as appropriate. Rocyn Williams to feed that back to Brenzett. b) The draft Equipment Hire Charge document was circulated for approval. Emma Jane Ross asked if the deposit could be in the form of a cheque which could be held and then ripped up if the goods were returned in good condition. It was noted that this would be the acceptable. Cllr Goddard said that we are not here to make money out of community groups but that the hirers are responsible for collecting and returning the equipment at their own cost. Agreed that the Equipment Hire Charge (01/07/15) be adopted. 7. BT Coronation Square phone box Councillor Goddard reported that the options for locating the defibrillator had been discussed by Lydd Town Council the previous evening. The phone box was still an option but Cllr Last was in negotiation with the pharmacy as a possible site. Should the phone box be the preferred option it would need to be adopted by the Town Council rather than the Partnership.and would be in site of the CCTV. 8. Street Scene Councillor Mrs Carole Waters said that there was bad news as she had no word on the bins and had not heard from Stuart Peall on this matter. When the street signs had been washed two had been missed outside the Police Station. There was good news that the bike which was put out for Lydd Club Day was still in situ.and thanked Paul Croft for watering the plants. It was noted that Mr Croft was on holiday and Cllr Waters said she would have a word with the shop to see if they would water in his absence. She went on to say that she now had bike no.2 donated by a resident which she hoped to attach to the railings outside the Church. Rocyn Williams said that Cllr Waters could stick it there and see if anyone complains. Emma Jane Ross said that she also had another bike with basket available.. Cllr Waters said that she would be happy to donate some lavender plants for the flower bed in Coronation Square as it was looking uncared for. Emma Jane Ross offered that the Youth Set would like to get involved with this project. Debbie McKenna suggested that metal cut-out signs like those at Brenzett would be attractive at either end of the village.

9. The Way Forward new projects a).cllr Mrs Waters said that a Coronation Square street party to celebrate that the Queen will be the longest reigning Monarch combined with a sports event on The Rype could be held on September 13t h 2015. b) Cllr Mrs Waters said she had also been approached regarding a live music event on the Rype. c) Debbie McKenna said that the bus stop adjacent to the West End Stores is run down and covered in graffiti. Action 1- Cllr Goddard suggested that the gardening group members form an entertainments group to look into finding out more detail on projects a and b and report their ideas back to the next meeting of Lydd Partnership for discussion. Councillor Ms Vicki Dawson was asked if she wished to join this group but declined and asked for this to be recorded in the minutes. Action 2 Cllr Goddard said that he would look into the bus stop situation. 10.Date of next meeting The next meeting of Lydd Partnership was originally set for 11 th August but due to unforeseen circumstances was rescheduled to Thursday 6 th August 2015 at 6pm Chairman Councillor Clive Goddard Signed Date
