The TCL Group helps to clean up 14
Q U I N A M B E A C H C L E A N - UP 15 Employees of TCL Group subsidiaries, Trinidad Cement Limited (TCL), TCL Packaging Limited (TPL) and Readymix (West Indies) Limited (RML), recently teamed up with a number of worldwide organisations to participate in the International Coastal Cleanup (ICC), which was facilitated by the Energy Chamber of Trinidad and Tobago. On Saturday 20th September, members of the TCL Group s staff, accompanied by their family and friends, made the southern trip to Quinam Beach in Siparia, to lend support to the cleanup effort. Though the beach appeared relatively clean, the contingent still encountered areas in which garbage had been indiscriminately discarded. TPL s Rejhawan Sookdeo commented, I certainly enjoyed the experience. It was great, the way in which the team participated together! When I arrived and saw the beach, I first thought that it was very clean, and was surprised when we discovered the areas with garbage. It was really shocking how much garbage we collected from a beach that first appeared to be clean." Brent Crawford of TCL s Mayo Quarry, who attended the cleanup with his son, Joash, shared Sookdeo s sentiments on the camaraderie experienced. This was an excellent team-building experience. It was great working with people from other departments and Group subsidiaries. I think we all felt a deep sense of national pride and national service!
