Yes, your member number will be the same as it is now, after the conversion. Why are you converting your core system? Our current system is outdated; it inhibits us from creating products and services you want and need. Our new system will increase efficiency and give us the opportunity to grow by developing these products and services and allow us to serve you to our best capabilities. Why are you updating the Online and Mobile Banking systems? With the updated technology, we will be able to immediately deliver enhancements many members have been asking for, in a user-friendly interface across all digital platforms. Additionally, there are numerous additional features on the horizon to keep us more current with technology and ahead of the curve. Why are you doing two conversions at one time? We wanted to update our core conversion as soon as possible to better serve our members. Our current Online and Mobile Banking system is not supported by the new core system. Not only did we need to do them at the same time, but we re excited about the opportunities with each. Why does the credit union have to close? During the conversion weekend, our systems will not be available and we re not able to access accounts to assist you. Why did you choose to convert over the holiday weekend? While we didn t intentionally choose the holiday weekend, we had to consider the best time to make a clean transfer to the new system. Based on our account and rate structure, it is best at the end of the quarter so we can start the new quarter with a new system. How are my new account numbers structured? After the conversion, we will be using an account number structure. You will keep your member number, but you ll also have a unique account number for each product you have with us. Share/savings and deposit accounts, consumer loans, and mortgage loan numbers will be changing. How do you make your loan payment? By ACH: It s automatically pulled/processed from your other financial institution, then sent to GECU. By Bill Pay: Either through GECU s Web BillPay or from your other financial institution s bill pay. Will my direct deposit, social security, or payroll deduction be affected? No, your direct deposit, social security, or payroll deduction will continue to post as normal and will not be affected by the conversion. Will your routing number change? No, GECU s routing number (2420-7682-1) will not change. Will the terms, rates, or features on my deposits or loans change? No, deposit and loan rates, terms, and features will not change based on this conversion. Account Access During Conversions: How do I access my accounts that weekend? On the weekend of the conversions, you will not be able to access your accounts online, through our app, in-branch, over the phone through Sourceline, or by calling our Contact Center. We recommend you plan ahead, before conversion weekend, to complete your banking before Friday, June 30 th. How am I supposed to access my money while you are closed? You can continue to use your checks, debit card, ATM card, and credit card as usual during our conversion weekend. Please note: Monday, July 3 rd is typically a very busy day as it is before the 4 th of July holiday. We strongly recommend handling all banking needs for the weekend (and even the holiday) by Friday, June 30 th. Checks: Do I need new checks after the conversion? No, checking, Money Market, and HSA account numbers will not change; you can continue using the same checks. Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) and Equity Rich Line of Credit (ERLOC) checks will continue to work as well. Can I use my old checks? Yes, you can continue to use your checks as your checking, Money Market, and HSA account numbers are not changing. Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) and Equity Rich Line of Credit (ERLOC) checks will continue to work as well. What if I write a check and it attempts to clear through my account during the conversion? Since we re only closed on Saturday, July 1 st, there is no need for concern. It will process on the next business day which is Monday, July 3 rd. Credit Cards: Will my GECU credit card be affected? No, not at all. Our conversion will not affect your credit card in any way; however, you will not have access to the credit card section within Online Banking during the conversion period. Will I be able to access my credit card information online during conversion weekend? As this access is obtained through Online Banking and Online Banking will be unavailable from 6:00 pm Friday, June 30 th until 9:00 am Monday, July 3 rd, there will not be access to your credit card information. By 9:00 am on Monday, July 3 rd, you will be able to log in to our new system using your current Username and one-time temporary password to access your credit card information. Your one-time temporary password will be your 4-digit birth year plus the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number. For example, if you re born in 1970 and the last 4 of your SSN is 1234, your one-time temporary password would be 19701234. Will I be getting a new credit card due to the conversion?.no, you will not receive a new credit card before or after the conversion as they are not affected by the conversion. 3 Accurate as of: 6.14.17
Debit & ATM Cards: Will my debit or ATM card work while the conversion is occurring? Yes, you will be able to use your debit or ATM card during and after the conversion. Your PIN will continue to work, too. Will I receive a new debit and/or ATM card?.no, your debit and/or ATM card, and the PIN, will continue to work. We will not be reissuing new cards. What if my debit card expires in June?.If your debit card expires in June, you will get your new card by the month s end and can activate the new card and make transactions during and after the conversion. If I ordered a new debit card, will the arrival be delayed? The delivery of a new card will not be affected by the conversion. The standard time frame is up to 10 business days. And, you will be able to activate and use the card as usual. Will debit cards with pending transactions post on time? Will they be delayed since you are closed?.since our debit card transactions typically post in real-time throughout the day depending on the merchant, transactions will not post until after our conversion on Monday, July 3 rd. Direct Deposit: Will my direct deposit be affected? No, your direct deposit will continue to post as normal and not be affected by the conversion. Do I need to tell my employer that I have a new account number? No. Your direct deposit will continue as is and will not be affected. Should you set up a new arrangement in the future, you will need your new account number as we are moving to an account-based numbering structure. Will my direct deposit be affected from June 30 th July 2 nd? No. Your direct deposit will not be affected and will occur as it normally would. e-statements: Will my past e-statements still be available in the new Online Banking system? Yes, if you already receive e-statements, you will be able to access up to the last two years of past e-statements or for as long as you ve been a member, whichever is less. If I sign up for e-statements in the new Online Banking system, how many past statements will be available?.when you sign up for e-statements, the last two years or as long as you ve been a member (whichever is less) will be available. Loan Accounts and Payments (scheduled, recurring, one-time): Does my loan account number change? If so, to what? Yes, your loan number will change. If you have a consumer loan, your new loan account number will be: Your member number + 9 + the Loan ID. Your Loan ID number can be found on your monthly statement. If you have a mortgage loan, your new account number will be: Your member number + 8 + the mortgage ID. Your mortgage ID number can be found on your monthly statement. 4 Accurate as of: 6.14.17
Do I need to update my loan number so my loan payment continues to be applied? If you pay your loan through ACH or BillPay system (ours or another financial institutions ), you will not need to update the information as it will transfer over to our new system. Moving forward, should you set up any new arrangements in the future, you will need your new loan account number. If your loan payment is scheduled in Online Banking under the Transfers & Payments tab, you will need to set up your payment again after the conversion in the new system. To do so, you will need your new loan account number. If you have a consumer loan, your new loan account number will be your member number + 9 + the Loan ID. Your Loan ID number can be found on your monthly statement. If you have a mortgage loan, your new loan number will be your member number + 8 + the mortgage ID. Your mortgage ID number can be found on your monthly statement. Can I apply for a loan during the conversion? We will not be accepting loan applications during conversion weekend beginning 6:00 pm Friday, June 30 th through 9:00 am Monday, July 3 rd. Beginning July 3 rd, we will continue to accept and review loan applications as usual online, in-person, by phone, and through Online or Mobile Banking. What if my payment is due when you are closed on Saturday, July 1 st? We recommend you plan to make your payment earlier that week; or night depositories will be available to drop in your payment over the weekend. If that s not possible, make your payment as soon as possible within the week following the conversion. If my 15-day grace period expires while you are closed, what happens then? Will I be reported to the credit bureau? We can accept deposits in our night depositories. We realize that we will be closed one day during the conversion and will make accommodations for items received. We recommend you pay earlier in the week. If that s not possible, make your payment as soon as possible within the week following the conversion. Will my loan payments be affected? Will they continue to occur? How do you make your loan payment? By ACH: It s automatically pulled/processed from your other financial institution, then sent to GECU. By Bill Pay: Either through GECU s Web BillPay or from your other financial institution s bill pay. In GECU s Online Banking: (not including Web BillPay) Recurring payments set up in the Transfers & Payments tab. NO action needed. NO action needed. Do you make your payment with loan coupons? Continue using the provided loan coupons. Do you make one-time payments within Online Banking? You will not have access to Online Banking from 6:00 pm on June 30 th through 9:00 am July 3 rd. Mobile Banking and Mobile Deposit: Will there be a new mobile app after the conversion?.yes, after the conversion, you will need to download the new GECU mobile app from your app store. What s new with Mobile Banking after the conversion? Mobile Banking will be more streamlined after the conversion. We re excited about many new sought-after features including: Added security with Touch ID and EyeVerify login capabilities. Robust alerts with the option for push alerts. If you have a checking account, you can access our new debit card purchase rewards from the mobile app. Will I be able to use the mobile deposit feature during conversion weekend? Mobile Deposits in Mobile Banking will be accepted until 12:00 pm on Friday, June 30 th. Since our systems will be down at the close of business on Friday, June 30 th, your accounts will likely not reflect those deposits until our systems are restored by 9:00 am on Monday, July 3 rd. Beginning at 9:00 am Monday, July 3 rd, you ll be able to download our new Mobile Banking app to access the Mobile Deposit feature. Mortgages: What if my payment is due when you are closed on Saturday, July 1 st? We recommend you plan to make your payment earlier in the week prior to June 30 th. Our night depositories will be available to drop in your payment. If that s not possible, make your payment as soon as possible within the week following the conversion. Will I still be able to use my Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC)/Equity Rich Line of Credit (ERLOC) checks? Yes, you can continue to use your checks during and after the conversion. Will anything else change due to the conversion with my primary or secondary mortgage?.beginning with July s statement cycle (received in August), you ll begin to receive monthly statements in a new format that will be easier to read. Online Banking: When will Online and Mobile Banking be available after the conversion? Our new Online and Mobile Banking system will be live by 9:00 am on Monday, July 3 rd. The first time you log in, you ll use your current Username with a one-time temporary password. You will then be prompted to update both your Username and password. Your one-time temporary password will be your 4-digit birth year plus the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number. For example, if you re born in 1970 and the last 4 of your SSN is 1234, your one-time temporary password will be 19701234. From there, you will be asked to change your Username and password so they meet our new security standards. Keep in mind, there will likely be a flood of activity on July 3 rd that may cause the site to run slower than normal or take a few times to access your account. Take your time and perhaps log in later in the day or in the week; when it s convenient for you. How do I log in after the conversion? Beginning Monday, July 3 rd, you can either visit our website or use our new mobile app to log in for the first time. They are streamlined, meaning logging in to one will give you access to the other. For your first time logging in to the new system, you will use your current Online Banking Username and a one-time temporary password. Your one-time temporary password will be your 4-digit birth year plus the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number. For example, if you re born in 1970 and the last 4 of your SSN is 1234, your one-time temporary password would be 19701234. From there, you will be asked to change your Username and password so they meet our new security standards. Will I use my same Username and password for the new Online Banking system that I use now? The first time you log in, you will use your current Username and a one-time temporary password. Once you log in, you will be prompted to change both your Username and password. Your one-time temporary password will be your 4-digit birth year plus the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number. For example, if you re born in 1970 and the last 4 of your SSN is 1234, your one-time temporary password would be 19701234. Why do I have to change my Username and password? We re implementing a new Online Banking system with additional security features that have new requirements for your Username and password. And, as passwords aren t stored in an accessible format, they cannot be moved to the new system. What are the new security requirements for the Username and password? Username requirements: Must be at least 6 characters long Must contain one letter Cannot contain any whitespace (spaces are not allowed: including before, in the middle of, or after the Username) Can contain letters, numbers, and the following special characters: the at symbol (@), the dollar sign ($), an asterisk (*), an underscore (_), a hyphen (-), an equal sign (=), a period (.), an exclamation point (!), and tilde (~) Password requirements: Must be at least 6 characters long and no longer than 32 characters Must contain characters from at least two of the following three categories: letters, numbers, special characters. Cannot contain any whitespace (spaces are not allowed: including before, in the middle of, or after the Username) Cannot be a substring of the Username Passwords are case sensitive Passwords do not expire Will changing my Username and password in Online Banking take a long time? No. When you log in for the first time using your current Username and one-time temporary password, you will then be able to change your Username and password in a few simple steps: To log in for the first time, you can do so on your home computer or mobile device as both will grant access to the other. > > To log in for the first time on your desktop computer, visit our website (www.gecreditunion.org) and use your current Username to access Online Banking located in the same place on our website at the top right corner. > > To log in for the first time on your mobile device. Visit your app store, search General Electric Credit Union, and download our new Mobile app (beginning July 3 rd ) and enter in your current Username. You will need to use a one-time temporary password, which is your 4-digit birth year plus the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number. You will then be prompted to set up a new Username and password with the new security requirements. (Please see question above regarding requirements.) If I don t currently have Online Banking, but want to enroll after the conversion, what do I need to do? Beginning July 3 rd, enrolling in Online Banking will be easy. You can enroll from our website or download our new Mobile app to enroll you can enroll within either as they are interchangeable. To register from our website, visit www.gecreditunion.org and click Enroll under the Online Banking login in the top right corner. You will need your member number to enroll. What will be different about our new Online Banking after the conversion? Our new Online Banking platform will have a better user experience across the board. If you have a checking account, you ll now have debit card purchase rewards online and from our mobile app. Credit card users can access their information online or on a mobile device with the ability to manage cards (i.e. turn the card on or off). The new system will have robust, customizable alert options, Popmoney will be available to all Online Banking users, secure support, Quicken and QuickBooks transaction export options, and much more. If I ve nicknamed my accounts in Online Banking, will they be available in the new system? No. Your account nicknames will not appear in Online Banking after the conversion. You can easily do this in our new system in just a few minutes. Will I still be able to access my accounts through Mint.com? After our conversion, you will first need to log in to our new system using your current Username and the one-time temporary password (4-digit birth year plus the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number) and change your Username and password to meet our new security requirements. (See previous page regarding requirements.).then, you will need to use your new Username and password to update your account in Mint. Also, coming soon, we re offering the best-in-class money management and budgeting tool called MoneyDesktop. Overdraft Line of Credit: Will I have access to my overdraft line of credit during the conversion? Since accounts will not be accessible during the conversion, your overdraft line of credit will not be available. Popmoney : Will Popmoney still be available?.popmoney will be available, but you will have to set up your payees again after the conversion anything currently set up will not transfer. Moving forward, Popmoney will be available for all Online Banking users, and not just those with Web BillPay. Sourceline: Will I be able to access my account information on Sourceline during the conversion? No, Sourceline will be unavailable beginning 6:00 pm Friday, June 30 th through 9:00 am Monday, July 3 rd. Will the phone number for Sourceline change? No, the phone number for Sourceline will remain the same: (513) 243-3333 or (800) 589-2875. Will I need to change my PIN to access Sourceline after the conversion? Yes. The first time you call in, you ll be required to input your member number and the last four digits of your social security number as your PIN. You will be prompted to change your PIN after your initial login. Web BillPay: Do I need to set up my WBP accounts again? No. All biller information, ebills, scheduled/recurring payments, payment history, and reminders will transfer to the new system. What happens to scheduled payments in WBP when you are closed (June 30 th July 2 nd ) or after the conversion? They will not be affected by the conversion and will occur as they normally would.
