WHAT IS THE K FUND? he University of Kentucky Blue & White Fund was established in T1973 to provide a funding resource for student-athlete scholarships and a means to build and upgrade athletic facilities. In September 2002, we re-vamped the Blue & White Fund and created the K Fund in an effort to: ensure fairness and equity in the season ticket allocation process; keep up with the rising costs of our student-athlete s tuition; and maintain a competitive advantage against other SEC and NCAA schools. K FUND METHODS OF SUPPORT Direct Contribution Direct Contribution is the most common method of giving and the common way to pay off a capital gift pledge. These gifts are made in the form of cash or check payable to the K Fund. We also accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. Matching Gifts Matching Gifts are a great way to maximize your gift to the K Fund. Many corporations will match their employee s contributions. Please consult the benefits office at your place of employment. You may be able to double or triple the value of your gift. Gifts of Securities Gifts of securities are becoming a popular way of making a substantial contribution to the K Fund. Some donors choose to make gifts in the form of stock and in some circumstances enable donors to realize capital gains tax benefits. HAVE YOU GIVEN 110% Estate and Planned Gifts Another way for a donor to financially support UK Athletics is through deferred gifts, wills, bequests and trusts. These are ways a donor can provide the needed funds to help the K Fund continue its growth. Also they may provide income/capital gains tax savings and possible estate tax saving.
