THE ROCKET FUND BUILDING CHAMPIONS...IN THE CLASSROOM, IN COMPETITION AND IN THE COMMUNITY

ROCKET PRIDE

SUPPORTING THE FUTURE The Rocket Fund is the official annual giving program of The University of Toledo Athletic Department. The Rocket Fund generates funds needed to assist student-athletes and their sport programs here at UT. This support helps to fund scholarships, academic assistance, equipment needs and many other items for the nearly 400 student-athletes participating in 16 Division I varsity sports at The University of Toledo. As a thank you for supporting the Rockets, the Rocket Fund allows you access to special benefits and privileges, along with the satisfaction of knowing that you are contributing to their success in the classroom, in competition and in the community.

YOUR SUPPORT MATTERS Success for University of Toledo student-athletes is truly a team effort. Our Rockets thrive thanks to support from parents, coaches, faculty, support staff and you! Whether you re a UT alum, relative, friend, or fan, your support of the Rocket Fund is absolutely vital in the lives of our student-athletes. Our Rockets compete at the highest level of intercollegiate athletics, while achieving academic standards that are among the highest in the nation. Whether it is another great triumph against our rivals, or a recordsetting semester in the classroom, we all can take great pride in the accomplishments of our Rockets. But all great endeavors come with a cost. Tuition, room and board, travel, facilities, equipment--the price tag to operate a successful Division I athletics program is substantial. The Rocket Fund bridges the gap, providing UT student-athletes in 16 varsity sports the resources they need to earn great educations while participating in the sports they love. With your support, our nearly 400 student-athletes are offered exceptional educations while working and competing every day to achieve athletic excellence. They make us all proud to be Rockets, and proud to be Rocket Fund supporters!

LEAVE A LEGACY Leaving a legacy at The University of Toledo is something many fans and supporters want to do, but often times, do not know how to do it. Without some action on your part, your support will end at the end of your life. However, your support of Rocket Athletics does not have to end when you pass away. There are many opportunities to leave legacy gifts that will support our student-athletes and their sport programs for years to come. To that end, we recently created the The Rocket Fund Legacy Society to provide all Rocket supporters the chance to ensure that their support continues in perpetuity. Here is how the program works: Take your current annual gift to the Rocket Fund and multiply it by 25. This number is what is needed to put into our endowment fund to generate your current annual gift forever. This gift can be made over a period of time, through a simple bequest, through a gift of a life insurance policy and by other methods. Our development team can provide more detailed information about how to fund your legacy gift. All donors who create plans to join the program will be recognized on our Rocket Fund Legacy Wall at Savage Arena and on our website. For more information regarding how to create a lasting impact on our athletic programs, please contact the Athletic Development office at 419.530.2510 or 419.530.4183.

MATCHING GIFTS Many companies and corporations match their employees contributions to the Rocket Fund. If your company has a matching gift program, you can double or even triple the value of your gift to the Rocket Fund. Please consult the benefits office at your place of employment for information and/or matching gift forms. Please note: To qualify for recognition in a specific division, the matching gift portion and the personal gift portion must be for the benefit of the athletic department. TAX INFORMATION All gifts to The Rocket Fund are received by The University of Toledo Foundation. The Foundation is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit corporation. All gifts are tax deductible with the exception of the fair market value of any benefits (parking passes for non-season ticket holders) received. You will receive an official gift receipt, along with a letter explaining these rules. In addition, under section 170 (m) of the Internal Revenue Code, eighty percent (80%) of an amount paid to an institution of higher education is eligible for treatment as a charitable contribution if, as a result of the contribution, the donor receives the right to purchase priority season tickets for athletic events. Outright gifts with no ticket purchase attached are fully deductible less the fair market value of any benefits, as mentioned above. Please indicate on the application if you wish to purchase (or currently purchase) priority season tickets and if you wish to receive parking passes. Consult with your tax advisor concerning the deductibility of your contributions to The Rocket Fund. *Parking passes are provided as a benefit to Season Ticket Holders and Rocket Fund Donors. Lot location is based on contribution levels. For tax purposes, parking passes are only considered a benefit for the donors that do not have season tickets.
