Fifth Annual Conference on WRAPS AND PLATFORMS Harnessing the Power of Platforms to Deliver Pension Freedom Contributions from FCA Nucleus Standard Life Succession HSBC SEI The Lang Cat EY AXA Wealth One Day Conference Wednesday 24 June 2015 The London Marriott, Canary Wharf, London E14 4ED

Wraps and Platforms could be the winners of the pension revolution. It is clear that the pension reforms offer big opportunities and it is widely accepted that platform assets are likely to increase as the new flexible arrangements take hold. Companies are positioning themselves in the market and business models are changing as strategies for the reforms start to be implemented. New acquisitions for vertical integration have been announced recently as companies seek to take full advantage of the new market conditions and implement their new business structures and propositions. With these opportunities come challenges. Wraps and platforms already have the flexibility to offer services but platform functionality will be the key to success in the new market. Many wrap and platform propositions are struggling with ageing technology and re- platforming is already taking place. Advisers will want to ensure that they deliver good service to clients and that platform technology has the capacity to allow their clients to maximise all the pension freedoms. Regulatory scrutiny will be on the increase, especially in the area of due diligence, suitability and with the new drawdown products to ensure good customer outcomes. Competition for assets is likely to increase and price and service will be the differentiator. Westminster and City s fifth annual conference on Wraps and Platforms is ideally timed to take place a few months into the new pension freedom regime. It will offer insights into how customers and advisers are using platforms and how the wrap and platform market is responding to the opportunities and the challenges. It will assess how customers are reacting to the new flexibility and what it will mean for products and services.

Fifth Annual Conference on WRAPS AND PLAT Harnessing the Power of Platforms to Conference Chairman Peter Mann Market Dynamics Pension Freedom, Platforms and Advice: Building a New World of Wealth Management Barry O Dwyer Managing Director, Corporate, Retail & Wholesale STANDARD LIFE The pensions revolution is underway. The impact will be far reaching for consumers and companies. What are the implications for the wider pensions and investments market and what are the opportunities and challenges for wraps and platforms? The Importance of Independence Paul Bradshaw Chairman NUCLEUS This session will look at the financial dynamics in some vertically integrated models exploring whether they implicitly assume irrational behaviour on the part of elements of the value chain, poor customer value or impediments to the healthy evolution of the exploding pension market. Regulation Pension freedom is the latest in a series of major changes for the industry. Regulation will continue to affect all areas of wrap and platform development including charges and pricing and in particular due diligence. What are the regulatory considerations going forward? Regulatory Developments within Long Term Savings and Pensions Considerations for the Wrap and Platform Market Nick Poyntz-Wright Director of Long Term Savings and Pensions FCA Execution Only and Self Directed Platform Services Investment into direct to consumer and self-directed platform services has increased over the last few years. With the new freedoms, where do these services fit in the value chain? Will they be a threat to current adviser models and, if so, what is the future for pricing across all platforms? The Changing Role of Platforms in the Value Chain Robert Wood Executive Director EY

FORMS Deliver Pension Freedom Managing Pension Freedom - Technology Challenges Taking advantage of new business in a pension freedom world will involve high technology spend at a time when margins are already under pressure. More and more providers are looking again at the technology powering their propositions. Moving clients from old products to new in order to access pension freedoms adds further complexity. What are the challenges of re-platforming and how are providers managing pension freedom from a technological and administrative perspective? How might advisers assess providers going through technological change in terms of due diligence? Platform or Off Platform? Since the original announcement, much research has been done prior to the commencement of pension freedom. But how will customers actually respond? What are the results of the first three months and how will the information impact on provider propositions and product range? Will platform or product be key to the investor? Products or Platforms? Providing Effective Income Solutions in the New post- Compulsion Retirement Market Simon C Ellis Global Head of Client Segments, Client Strategy HSBC GLOBAL ASSET MANAGEMENT Taking Advantage of Opportunities in a Pension Freedom World Brett Williams Managing Director UK SEI Case Study - Pension Freedom to Date and Implications for Provider Propositions David Thompson Managing Director Business Development and Proposition AXA WEALTH The Shock of the New Re-Platforming and the Death of Legacy Mark Polson Principal THE LANG CAT Changing Dynamics of Longer Term Savings What do Advisers and Clients Want?
