ABOUT THE DATA Advanced Global Data Content Overview Data Feeds and Frequency Account Setup in Advanced Currency and Financial Data Claim Data Processing Help / International Services Team Data Feeds and Frequency Advanced is updated utilizing multiple feeds from around the world, at different frequencies. Approximately 85% of the claims worldwide are fed daily and are applied to Advanced within 48 hours. The majority of the remaining volume feeds Advanced monthly. The same data feed that is used for corporate accounting is loaded into Advanced. Click here for frequency details. Frequency Notes: Due to the extreme volume and some data issues, indigenous business (A-account data, produced and issued within the same office), currently is passed through to Advanced for selected offices only, with limited data. Account Setup in Advanced Advanced International identifies customers by their Dunn & Bradstreet Number (D&B). A policy is booked to a D&B number and within Advanced; multiple D&B/Account numbers are grouped into one RMIS Client number for ease of reporting. Currently, a limited amount of international policies are setup automatically in Advanced. Advanced will only display claims data if the policy is linked to a valid D&B number that is attached to an RMIS Client Number. Most D&B numbers should already be set up in Advanced. However this will need to be verified account by account. If a D&B number does not appear on Advanced, it can be easily added upon written request to intelliriskglobaldqc@aig.com and all the historical data will appear in Advanced within 48 hours.
Currency and Financial Data Currency Conversion (FX) Rates Advanced and AIG corporate reporting use the FX rate table provided by AIG treasury. For the majority of currencies the treasury department uses a live feed from Reuters. Reuters uses the 12 Noon NYC spot rate for the last NY business day of the month. A business day is any day on which the Federal Reserve Bank is open. For accurate reporting, the FX rate is calculated up to 4 decimal places in Advanced. Evaluating Financials with Fluctuating Currency Conversion (FX) Rates The Total Paid values displayed on Advanced remain frozen in both original currency and the common currency in which they were paid, based on the date of the transaction and the rate for that month. The reserve amounts in the original currency are also frozen, while the amounts in common currencies fluctuate based on the changing FX rate. End users may observe movement in the reserves from month to month on the converted values as the FX rates change. Negative Incurred Amounts Displaying in Advanced It is common for insurance carriers to have a knock for knock agreement, especially with commercial auto claims. This agreement is used to reduce the overall administrative costs of a claim. In the event of an accident the liable party is responsible for a minimum fixed indemnity amount. The fixed minimum amount is based on the agreement between the two carriers. For example, if an auto accident in a company car, regardless of the cost to fix the car, the liable party must pay a minimum of 1,000. If your car sustains 200 of damage, Advanced will display a paid amount of 200 along with -1,000 subrogation. If no other transactions are present the total incurred on the claim will show -800 (200 + the subrogation of -1000 ). Claim Data Processing Employer Liability Claims Loss Types The following logic is applied to determine the Loss Type for EL / WC claims: WC-IND: The claim contains at least 1 Indemnity Financial (Reserve Type I) transaction, or the claim contains a Legal/Expense payment/reserve. WC-MED: The claim contains at least 1 Medical Financial (Reserve Type M) transaction and no Indemnity transactions. Missing Claims To reduce claim volume so claim counts are not inflated, claims that are opened and closed within the same day with no financials are not extracted from the local system or passed to Advanced for the daily reporting countries. The same rule applies or the lower claim volume countries that send their data monthly; claims that are opened and closed within the same month with no financials are not extracted from the local clam system or displayed on Advanced.
