HEDGE FUND REGIONAL COMPOSITIONS

Summary The following pages rank the regional distribution of active hedge fund firms and their active products (funds), based on information contained in evestment s research dataset. With the size and scope of evestment s research dataset, the following information is a reasonable proxy for the regional distribution of the hedge fund industry. In all cases, data is provided as a percent of total information available based upon the following methodology: Methodology The evestment research database is a combination of evestment s commercial and private portal datasets evestment s research database contains information on over 28,000 active and inactive hedge fund products and 7,200 firms The sample of unique hedge fund products used for this report consists of over 5,500 active hedge fund products from over 2,800 firms The information contained in this report is calculated from data reported by the asset managers to evestment. Significant efforts were made to remove duplicative product information (share classes, etc) to best capture the distribution and launch trends within the industry.
