I. CHARACTERISTICS A. THE CARD Europa Platinum, the prestigious charge card in euro from MasterCard, offers its cardholder multiple advantages and privileges. It allows the cardholder to save on exchange fees for purchases and withdrawals made in euro currency. It is possible to make transactions in different currencies with Europa Platinum card; but in this case, exchange fees are at the cardholder s charge. Europa Platinum allows the cardholder to make the following operations, all around the world: Purchases at all merchants displaying MasterCard logo. Withdrawals from any MasterCard ATM network. Useful tip: Sign immediately the back of the card upon its reception and keep it safe. CARD VALIDITY The card is valid until the last day of the month indicated on its front side. It will be renewed before its expiration date, to allow its holder to benefit continuously from all services. The cardholder can get the renewed card 1 month prior to the expiration date of the currently held card. CARD LIMIT The limit of Europa Platinum card is renewed the 1st day of each month. Europa Platinum card allows the cardholder to make purchases and withdrawals according to the card s allocated ceiling and within the weekly and daily card limit. The minimum limit of Europa Platinum card is EUR 5,000. CAPACITY OF PURCHASE AND WITHDRAWAL The parameters of Europa Platinum card are the following: Frequency Purchases in EUR Withdrawals in EUR Daily 6,000 3,000 Weekly 30,000 5,000 Useful tips: The cardholder should verify with his personal banker, prior to every important purchase / withdrawal he intends to make, that his payment and withdrawal card limits are sufficient. Modification of weekly or daily parameters may be requested from the personal banker at any time (the modification takes effect in the 24 following hours). EUROPA PLATINUM, A CHIP CARD Europa Platinum belongs to the new generation of chip cards, designed to insure the best in terms of safety of use. The PIN code should be memorized; it is needed for all withdrawal transactions and for most purchase transactions. 3/9
PIN CODE The PIN code is a security guarantee: The PIN is personal. No one is entitled to ask for it: neither legal authorities, nor SGBL or MasterCard. It should be memorized and the document on which it was delivered should be destroyed. If a PIN code is forgotten, a new one may be requested at the branch. The card and its secret code should never be kept together. B. PAYMENTS AND WITHDRAWALS PAYMENTS The cardholder can benefit from a grace period up to 30 days on all purchases made in euro by Europa Platinum card during the month. The amount of purchases made with Europa Platinum card is debited from the current account in euro at the end of each month. Steps to Follow: Europa Platinum cardholder shows the card to the merchant. If the POS accepts chip cards, the card is inserted into the chip card reader and the payment is validated by entering the PIN code and signing the payment receipt given by the merchant. If the POS doesn t accept chip cards, the card is swiped in the magnetic stripe reader and the payment is validated by signing the payment receipt given by the merchant. WITHDRAWALS The amounts withdrawn from ATMs as well as the commission on withdrawals are directly debited from the current account. CARD MALFUNCTIONING In the event of card malfunctioning, the Card Service will advise and assist the cardholder to put the problem in order in the shortest delays. 4/9
D. CARD LOSS OR THEFT In the event of theft or loss of Europa Platinum card, or if the card has been retained by the automated teller machine (ATM), it should be stopped immediately: The cardholder should immediately call SGBL card authorization center opened 24/24: - From Lebanon: 1274 or +961 1 489 583 - From abroad: +961 1 489 583 / +961 3 477 777 / +1 636 722 7111 The branch should be notified by phone, telegram or fax and a written confirmation should be immediately sent. A stolen card should be declared to the police. A copy of the theft declaration should be provided to the branch. Following the notification, the cardholder is immediately released from any liability towards all subsequent transactions, except the ones requiring the use of a PIN code. Replacement costs resulting from the opposition of the card will be at the cardholder s charge. The cardholder should not try to use his Europa Platinum card if found after loss/theft notification, because it would have been cancelled. It should be destroyed and returned to SGBL branch. II. If the card is stopped due to loss or theft, the guarantee of assistance is not interrupted. 2. If the mean of transportation from Lebanon has not been settled with Europa Platinum card, the rent of a vehicle abroad, doesn t guarantee the travel assistance coverage. In this case, the cardholder benefits from the assistance coverage only further to an accident occuring with the rented vehicle. LIFE INSURANCE Contract subscribed by SGBL - SOCIETE GENERALE DE BANQUE AU LIBAN SAL with SOGECAP LIBAN SAL. GUARANTEE OBJECTIVE The insurance guarantees indemnity payment to the beneficiary, in case of accident that occurs during a guaranteed travel or trip abroad, and if the insured is less than: 75 years old, in case of death (occurring during the 100 days following the accident date). 65 years old, in case of permanent partial or total disability of the insured. Are guaranteed: The «round trip» from Lebanon. Possible interruptions occurring during the trip (correspondence, transit ). The way to directly access the departure place of the mean of transportation. The way to go directly from the place of arrival of the mean of transportation, to the final destination, noting that: - In case of acquisition of the ticket immediately prior to the trip with the card, the guarantee is applied from the time of acquisition. - Regarding season tickets for public transportation, the guarantee is applied exclusively during the time of transport. Excluded from the guarantee are only the accidents caused by: Willful misconduct Suicide attempt or voluntary mutilation Natural disasters Atomic risks and nuclear radiation Drunkenness The use of drugs, narcotics and tranquilizers, not medically prescribed The active participation of the insured to strikes, riots, popular movements, fights, and acts of terrorism or sabotage, knowing that the guarantee is granted in case of hostage taking or hijacking. Races of motor vehicles Civil or foreign war Piloting and air sports BENEFICIARIES OF THE GUARANTEE In case of death: the surviving spouse of the insured, not separated or divorced or in default the legal successors of the insured. SMS SECUSPEND A free of charge service with Europa Platinum card that allows the cardholder, immediate track of his card transactions: SMS track of card transactions at any time Alert in case of card fraudulent use (theft or loss) to stop it immediately MONTHLY CARD STATEMENT A free monthly card statement is issued the 5th of each month to allow the cardholder to track all payment and withdrawal operations made with Europa Platinum card, in Lebanon and abroad.
