There is no grace period for license renewal. Pursuant to Subarticle 3 of the South Carolina State Fire Marshal s Rules and Regulations, licenses are valid for one calendar year. Renewal applications must be postmarked by December 31, 2018. If you wish to renew your license, please mail the following two items to the State Fire Marshal s office at the above address prior to the expiration date: 1. A completed Renewal Application for Explosives Dealer License. For your convenience, a copy of the application is attached. 2. A check or money order made payable to the State of South Carolina in the amount of $1,000 for a Class I License, or $250 for a Class II License. CREDIT CARDS ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTED FOR EXPLOSIVES DEALER RENEWAL APPLICATIONS. As a reminder, explosive magazine permits also expire Dec. 31, 2018. Please find attached a 2019 Magazine Permit Application. One must be completed for each magazine you operate. If needed, please feel free to reproduce all of these forms locally.
