The qualification period for the 2018 President s Conference includes net issued business produced during a twelve-month period from January 1, 2017, through December 31, 2017. An additional seven days will be given at the beginning of January 2018 to tighten up loose ends from the end of the year. Monthly reports will be sent to you, showing your accumulated NAFYC, applications and new member totals for NMB business. All qualifiers must be licensed and in good standing with NMB at the time of the Conference to receive any awards. A qualified representative who cannot attend the Conference may be paid a cash reward, provided that their absence has been approved in writing by the Home Office Rules Committee. In addition, the cash reward amount will be determined by the Home Office Rules Committee. This will be reported on your tax form at year-end. Issued business includes all business issued during the qualifying period less chargebacks. Eligible annuity business includes deposits into a newly issued annuity, originally written by that same agent, in its first policy year. Deposits made into an in force annuity after its first policy anniversary are not credited for President s Conference. ALL TAX-QUALIFIED ANNUITIES ARE EXCLUDED FROM PRESIDENT S CONFERENCE. Annuity rollovers must be received in the Home Office and applied to the policy by the end of the qualification date to be credited. Annualized net first year commission levels include first year commissions only on Life policies. No renewal or excess Universal Life commissions will count for qualification levels. Any chargebacks of first year commissions will be subtracted from business issued. Annuity commission will count as earned and credited to the agent s account. The official report showing eligible credit is the President s Conference Report, which will be supplied to you on a monthly basis. The sources of the data for this report are the Net Issued Business Report and the Qualified Annuity Report, which is subtracted from the Net Issued Business Report numbers. However, these reports show only NMB business. For Full Time Field Representatives, the year-end report will include Corporate Agency (NMB Brokerage) commission. For Independent Field Representatives, please note that all qualification trip levels are established on base level net annualized commissions, not actual earned commissions. Commissions earned on approved business issued through Corporate Agency (NMB Brokerage) is credited as follows: a maximum of $3,000 Net Earned First Year Commission (NEFYC) can be used in addition to NMB business to meet any qualification level, except for the MDRT level. Corporate Agency business is NOT eligible at the MDRT level. ALL TAX- QUALIFIED ANNUITIES ARE EXCLUDED FROM CORPORATE AGENCY BUSINESS. A minimum of 24 net issued qualified applications is required. Dual Benefit Universal Life applications count as two applications. Increases in base coverage of $10,000 or more (credited to the agent) count as an application.
All tax-qualified annuities are excluded from President s Conference entirely. These specific annuities will not count towards issued business, Corporate Agency business, application count, Fast Start Credit, Take Two Credit, or new member qualifications. GrandStart policies do not count towards application count nor towards new member President s Conference totals. However, GrandStarts will only count as new members in the Take Two Credit promotion. To promote a fast start to the production year, additional commission credit will be given on NMB business issued during the first quarter. These additional commissions will not be paid, but rather used only as credit towards qualifications for President s Conference. Fast Start commission credit will NOT count towards any other incentive promotion or program. Monthly reports will be sent to you showing your actual accumulated NAFYC and your Fast Start Credit commissions. Business issued in January, February and March will receive total credit of 120% of normal commissions. There is no Fast Start Credit on Corporate Agency (NMB Brokerage) business. To promote a great production year and to encourage agents to actively seek new members, an additional $250 commission credit will be given on each new member issued during the second, third and fourth quarter. These additional commissions will not be paid, but rather used only as credit towards qualifications for President s Conference. The Take Two commission credit will NOT count towards any other incentive promotion or program. GrandStart policies will be counted as new members for Take Two ONLY, but will earn $125 commission credit for each new member. Monthly reports will be sent to you showing your actual accumulated NAFYC and your Take Two Credit commissions. There is no Take Two Credit on Corporate Agency (NMB Brokerage) business. A cash bonus is available for agents who produce a minimum of 40 net issued NMB new members. See qualifications for details. A new member is a person who was not previously insured under a NMB individual or dual life policy within the last 36 months. Both insureds on a Dual Benefit Universal Life application count as new members if they both qualify according to the above definition. The MDRT mandates qualification rules to earn their award. Among those rules are the required commission levels and the requirement that credited commissions be on issued business. To qualify for the MDRT Club for this President s Conference, you must meet MDRT qualifications with NMB business ONLY. In addition, you must meet the net application requirements of 55 to qualify for this club. It is possible and has occurred to meet MDRT qualification levels with NMB business, Corporate Agency business and business from another company (Independents); however, ONLY NMB s total commission will determine the MDRT Club award.
Any Full Time Field Representative who has achieved at least 20 years of service with National Mutual Benefit and has qualified for a minimum of 20 President s Conferences, will be able to qualify for this conference with a minimum of 25 net issued applications. Full Time Field Representatives must qualify at the same NAFYC levels as established each year for each President s Conference category. Representatives qualifying for more than one club category will receive the highest club award only. If trip is not all-inclusive, additional cash bonuses will be included in the qualification level awards. For all-inclusive trips, additional cash bonuses are not distributed. For trips where travel is not included, travel allowances will be incorporated in the qualification levels. When airfare is included, travel allowances are not distributed. In either case, airfare will be booked by NMB. The 2018 trip is all-inclusive with airfare provided. Cash payments representing bonuses are taxable as ordinary income. This will be reported on your tax form at year-end. Any travel or food expenses that are not provided by NMB or in the trip package are the responsibility of the qualifier. This includes costs related to airport transfers or automobile and travel expenses if driving to the conference from the qualifier s home. Souvenirs and gifts are NOT eligible expenses. At the conclusion of the conference, costs related to transportation home from the conference are likewise the responsibility of the qualifier. The qualifier has the responsibility of submitting eligible expenses to the Home Office Accounting Department to offset a portion of the travel allowance (if applicable) by June 1, 2018. The excess over approved eligible expenses will be subject to income taxes. The 2018 trip is allinclusive with airfare provided so there should not be any eligible expenses. The Home Office Rules Committee reserves the right to interpret the rules of this contest, which is an incentive contest and not a contractual right. In addition, the Home Office Rules Committee reserves the right to make final decisions regarding any award winner.
