As the daughter of a Foreign Service officer, Sue s childhood took her to many places across this country and overseas. She graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University with a degree in Economics, then accepted an appointment at the U.S. Senate as a Congressional Fellow and later studied economics at Oxford University. Her career includes employment with Booz, Allen & Hamilton, Inc., an international management consulting firm, as well as the U.S. Government. The Sturms moved to Denver in 1991. In addition to the 3-state banking operations, SFG endeavors also include a wealth management practice and real estate activities including land development, commercial ownership and management. The Sturms share a belief in the importance of giving back to the community and both serve numerous volunteer organizations. They have invested approximately $30 million in Denver University s Sturm Hall, the Sturm College of Law, and numerous other initiatives to enhance the quality of teaching and learning at the University. Page 3 RESPONSIBILITIES This is a new banking officer position created to accommodate growth the Kansas Market has and will continue to experience. The position reports directly to RJ Gildea. While it might be defensible to call this position a lender, at ANB Bank any officer position goes well beyond that. ANB Bank does not operate in a silo structure. Rather, the Bank embraces the full spectrum of what it means to be a community bank. As a Bank Officer, the successful candidate will serve both commercial and consumer clientele in originating, processing and serving the credit, depository, cash management and other banking needs of existing and new bank customers in the bank s Kansas Region. Other essential duties and responsibilities include: Maintains a current knowledge and compliance with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) requirements. Serves the credit needs of customers and prospecting requiring plant visits; obtaining financial and other information; performing or coordinating credit analysis; making loan presentations and recommending approval to Bank Loan Committee where required; and negotiating terms and conditions such as rates, collateral, guarantees, loan agreements and other documentation. Applies ongoing administration and review of the credit until the ultimate collection, including on-going monitoring and grading of credit. Detects potential problems and applies techniques of problem loan administration. Although Loan Committee review may be required prior to approval of certain loans, a high degree of reliance is placed on the judgment of the loan officer. Regardless of the need for committee approval, the loan offer is fully responsible for the loan. Responsible for the daily management of a commercial loan portfolio, including, but not limited to, credit quality; compliance with the Bank s policies and procedures, and applicable laws and regulations; and management of past due loan status. Overall portfolio may include consumer credits as well. Acts as the relationship manager for assigned customers, ensuring customer satisfaction and the resolution of service problems for all Bank products. Expands customer base through networking and sales calling. Solicits business of non-borrowing customers as well as loan customers. Maintains product knowledge to generate credit, deposit and fee business. Participates in community involvement activities to enhance the Bank s visibility, image and reputation. Delivers quality of service as defined by department standards. Obtains National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) registration under the terms of the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008. Develops proficiency in all banking operations to include, but not limited to, new account opening requirements, NGP, consumer and business accounts and services, Treasury Management accounts and services, and branch audit requirements. Assists with other bank operational functions as needed or directed.
Page 4 Seeks out opportunities to assist other lending officers with their in-process files and current portfolios. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor s degree in business administration, finance or related discipline. Progressively responsible and multi-disciplinary experience in a customer-centric community banking organization with ideally 3 or more years in commercial lines lending, loan administration or credit analysis. Expertise to manage a loan portfolio of approximately $20+ million which may also include consumer loans. Well-developed skills in relationship management and prospect cultivation. Registration under the terms of the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008 with the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS).
