RELIUS EDUCATION Advanced Pension Conference February 9-11, 2009 Orlando, Florida

Sungard s relius education 2 HIGHLIGHTS Dear Pension Professional: The only constants in the pension world are change and complexity. As a new president and Congress take office, it is safe to assume that further legislative and regulatory changes affecting retirement plans will be forthcoming. At the top of the list is the issue of fees and expenses charged to 401(k) plans. Final DOL regulations, which are expected at any moment, will require most service providers to completely rewrite their engagement contracts. In addition, Congressman (and Committee Chair) George Miller is expected to hold hearings in this area, and on the topic of how the financial crisis has impacted the private retirement system. Concurrently, EGTRRA updating of pre-approved defined contribution plans is in full swing, keeping practitioners and plan sponsors extremely busy. All the while, IRS and DOL audit activities continue unabated, with new priorities and techniques. There is much to learn, and no better way to get caught up, than by attending SunGard s Relius Education Advanced Pension Conference in Orlando, Florida. Stephen Forbes, author of The 5500 Filing Guide, will give us the latest word on the EFAST filing system. Derrin Watson returns as host of Pension Jeopardy, where you watch and learn as our speakers struggle to come up with the correct answer. Virginia Sutton brings us a wealth of knowledge on 401(k) fees and the latest investment trends. Tom Finnegan will update us on PPA 06 funding issues. We conclude on Wednesday with our highest rated, most popular session, Ask the Experts. Get your tough questions answered by our nationally acclaimed panel of speakers in a two-hour open forum. Stay on top of the latest developments (and have a little fun as well) by attending the SunGard Advanced Pension Conference. Sincerely, Craig P. Hoffman vice president and general counsel, SunGard Relius P.S. The early registration deadline is January 9. A multiple attendee discount is also available so bring your co-workers! This year, we return to Disney s Contemporary Resort, adjacent to the Magic Kingdom Park and located on the fabled monorail line. Once again, we have gathered the nation s leading experts to share their knowledge and experience. We are pleased to have the last three winners of the coveted ASPPA Educator of the Year Award joining us. We have added more concurrent sessions and expanded their length to give you the opportunity to explore those subjects most important to you. Topics to be covered include: Fee and Expense Issues in 401(k) Plans EGTRRA Updating A Work in Progress 403(b) Plans What to Do About the Final Regulations Engagement Contracts After the Final DOL Regulations New Participant Disclosure Requirements Are You Ready? Hardship Headaches and Other In-Service Distribution Options EPCRS and the Changes Made by Rev. Proc. 2008-50 SPONSORSHIP Sponsorships may still be available. For details, call Anne Dionne, 800-326-7235, Ext. 5958.

PPA Funding Issues (Part 2) Finnegan - Making Sense of the IRS Regulations - Applying the Yield Curve - AFTAP and Deduction Calculations - Transitional Concerns Recently, I was eating lunch with several pension practitioners at one of our one-day seminars. The conversation turned to discussing which annual conference they planned to attend for the coming year. We discussed the benefits and detriments of the various conferences and came to the conclusion that the conference which provides the best learning experience is SunGard s Relius Education Advanced Pension Conference. Attendees are actually encouraged to interact with the instructors and to ask follow-up questions. One practitioner also mentioned that the sessions at the Advanced Pension Conference were well organized and the take away materials were the best. The two conference locations also provide a wonderful setting for a conference. Orlando in February is the perfect break to brighten up the winter. Chicago in September provides you with a wonderful opportunity to enjoy one of the most beautiful downtowns in the country. So, for your money, the Advanced Pension Conference provides exactly what a conference needs a great educational experience in a wonderful setting. Stephen W. Forbes
