Excess Protect Plus Thank You for choosing Excess Protect Plus Protect Insurance. The information in this policy wording contains important information and We have made it as easy as possible to understand. Please take time to read through it and contact Us if You need any further information. Insurer This policy is underwritten by UK General Insurance Ltd on behalf of Great Lakes Insurance SE. Great Lakes Insurance SE is a German insurance company with its headquarters at Königinstrasse 107, 80802 Munich. UK Branch office: Plantation Place, 30 Fenchurch Street, London, EC3M 3AJ. Your policy is arranged and claims administered by RTR UK Ltd, Dovecote House, Middlecliffe Lane, Little Houghton, Barnsley, South Yorkshire, S72 0HW RTR UK Limited is an appointed representative of Your Company Matters Limited, which is authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), Ref 486123. RTR UK Limited is registered in England and Wales, Company No 05174365, Registered Address Dovecote House, Middlecliffe Lane, Little Houghton, Barnsley, S72 0HW. UK General Insurance Limited are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. This policy and the Certificate of Insurance or Confirmation of Coverage document must be read together as they form Your insurance contract. Monetary limits We can insure You up to the Cover Limit as specified on Your Certificate of Insurance or Confirmation of Coverage document. Cooling off period Your Policy Administrator will refund in full Your premium, if, within 14 days of purchasing this insurance You decide that it does not meet Your needs providing that You have not reported or are intending to report a claim. Once the 14 days has expired You have the right to cancel this insurance; however, no refund of premium will be due. The Insurer shall not be bound to accept renewal of any insurance and may at any time cancel any insurance document by giving 14 days notice in writing where there is a valid reason for doing so. A cancellation letter will be sent to You at Your last known address. Valid reasons may include but are not limited to: 1. Fraud 2. Non-payment of premium 3. Threatening and abusive behaviour 4. Non-compliance with policy terms and conditions Provided the premium has been paid in full You will be entitled to a proportionate rebate of premium in respect of the unexpired period showing on the insurance. Jurisdiction and law Unless some other law is agreed in writing, this policy is governed by English law. If there is a dispute, it will only be dealt with in the courts of England or of the country within the United Kingdom in which Your main residence is situated. Consumer Insurance Act You must take reasonable care to: 1. supply accurate and complete answers to all the questions We or the administrator may ask as part of Your application for cover under the policy 2. to make sure that all information supplied as part of Your application for cover is true and correct 3. tell Us of any changes to the answers You have given as soon as possible. You must take reasonable care to provide information that is accurate and complete answers to the questions We ask when You take out, make changes to and renew Your policy. If any information You provide is not accurate and complete, this may mean Your policy is invalid and that it does not operate in the event of a claim or We may not pay any claim in full. If You become aware that information You have given us is inaccurate or has changed, You must inform us or the administrator as soon as possible.

Fraudulent Claims/Fraud You must not act in a fraudulent way. If You or anyone acting for You: Fails to reveal or hides a fact likely to influence whether We accept Your proposal, Your renewal, or any adjustment to Your policy; Fails to reveal or hides a fact likely to influence the cover We provide; Makes a statement to Us or anyone acting on Our behalf, knowing the statement to be false; Sends Us or anyone acting on Our behalf a document, knowing the document to be forged or false; Makes a claim under the policy, knowing the claim to be false or fraudulent in any way; or Makes a claim for any loss or damage You caused deliberately or with Your knowledge. If Your claim is in any way dishonest or exaggerated, We will not pay any benefit under this policy or return any premium to You and We may cancel Your policy immediately and backdate the cancellation to the date of the fraudulent claim. We may also take legal action against You and inform the appropriate authorities. Definitions Where We explain what a word means that word will be highlighted in bold print and with a Capital Letter and will have the same meaning wherever it is used in the policy. Attachment Date: Car Rental Agreement: Car Rental Company: Certificate of Insurance or Confirmation of Coverage Claims administrator: The date that this policy started. The contract signed by You, where You are name on the Certificate of Insurance issued by the Car Rental Company, that states the Excess for which You are responsible in the event of a claim. A company licensed in the territory in which it is situated to provide vehicles for rental The part of this policy document that contains the name of the policyholder and gives details of the cover provided by this policy. RTR UK Ltd, Dovecote House, Middlecliffe Lane, Little Houghton, Barnsley, South Yorkshire, S72 0HW. Commercial Travel: Cover limit: Commercial use by sales representatives. The total aggregate amount which the We will pay to You under this policy during the relevant Period of Insurance being the amount specified on Your Certificate of Insurance. Driving Instructor: Excess: Motor Insurance Policy: An Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) with the Driving Standards Agency. The amount You must pay under the terms of Your Motor Insurance Policy or Car Rental Agreement. The insurance policy issued by an authorised UK Motor Insurer to You in respect of Your Motor Vehicle. Motorcycle: Motor Insurer: Motor Insurance Premium: A motorcycle (also called a motor bicycle or motorbike) which is constructed with twowheeled and powered by an engine of which You are the owner or which You are authorised to drive. An authorised and regulated UK motor insurer. The premium you paid for your Motor Insurance Policy when it last renewed or started, as shown on Your Motor Insurance Policy statement of price. Motor Vehicle: Named driver(s): Period of Insurance: A vehicle or Motorcycle (not being an invalid carriage) which is constructed for the carriage of passengers and their effects and is adapted to carry not more than seven passengers and does not exceed 3.5 Tonnes, of which You are the owner or which You are authorised to drive. Drivers in addition to You who are permitted to drive under the terms of Your Motor Insurance Policy or Car Rental Agreement. The period for which We have accepted the premium as stated in Your Certificate of Insurance.

Policy Administrator: RTR UK Ltd, Dovecote House, Middlecliffe Lane, Little Houghton, Barnsley, South Yorkshire, S72 0HW. Waived or Reimbursed: We/Us/Our/Insurer: You/Your/Insured Person: Where a third party has already made good which is the first amount of any claim, shown in the schedule under own damage of Your Motor Insurance Policy. UK General Insurance Limited on behalf of Great Lakes Insurance SE. The person (the Policyholder ) whose name appears at the top of Your Certificate of Insurance or Confirmation of Coverage document. Who is eligible to purchase this policy? Any person who: 1) Is permanently resident in the United Kingdom (England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Channel Islands and the Isle of Man). 2) Has a current and valid UK driving licence or hold a full internationally recognised driving licence. Cover provided 1) Subject to the appropriate premium being paid, the Insurer will pay You in each relevant Period of Insurance, an amount equal to the amount of the Excess in relation to each settled claim on Your Motor Insurance Policy up to Your Cover Limit in respect of claims arising as a result of fire, theft, flood, vandalism or an accident that was Your fault, or partially Your fault, or where within 6 months You are unable to recover Your Excess from a liable third party. 2) The Insurer will pay You in each relevant Period of Insurance, an amount equal to the amount of the Excess You have to pay following a claim under the terms of Your Car Rental Agreement up to Your Cover Limit. Cover is provided for up to 60 days per year, worldwide. Your car rental must be arranged through a fully licensed and authorised Car Rental Company operating in the country or state of hire. Where an accident occurs, Your UK Motor insurer must be notified of the accident if We are to consider Your claim. 3) Subject to you renewing your motor insurance policy through your existing motor insurer and following any claim paid under point 1 above we will pay you in each relevant period of insurance an amount equal to 25% of your current Motor Insurance Premium up to your Cover Limit. 4) Cover Limits available: a) 300 in any one Period of Insurance b) 500 in any one Period of Insurance c) 1,000 in any one Period of Insurance Please refer to the Certificate of Insurance or Confirmation of Coverage document for Your annual aggregate Cover Limit. 5) Under the claims protect element of the cover, We will only pay one claim during any one policy period. General conditions applicable 1) Cover is provided under the following use types : a) Social domestic & pleasure b) Personal business use by policyholder c) Personal use by a Named Driver(s). d) Personal business use by a Named Driver(s) e) Business use by a Named Driver(s) (excluding commercial travel) 2) Approved Driving Instructors are included. 3) This policy will continue to respond for the period of the insurance or until Your chosen Cover Limit is exhausted; whichever comes first. 4) The Motor Insurance Policy that You have must be current and valid and provided by an FCA regulated and authorised UK insurer.

5) The Car Rental Agreement must have been issued by a Car Rental Company that is fully licensed with and authorised by the regulatory authority of that country, state or local authority. 6) The policyholder as stated on the Certificate of Insurance or Confirmation of Coverage document must match the lead name of the individual on the Motor Insurance Policy that has responded and to which this policy will respond to the amount of the Excess. 7) Only when the Excess of the current and valid Motor Insurance Policy is exceeded and following the successful claim payment from that Motor Insurance Policy will this policy respond. 8) In the event that any misrepresentation or concealment is made by You or on Your behalf in obtaining this insurance or in support of any claim under this insurance this policy may be voided and no refund of premium will be given. 9) Motor Insurance - You must maintain at all times during the period of this policy a Motor Insurance Policy issued to You in respect of Your Motor Vehicle by a UK registered and authorised Motor Insurer. What is not covered (exclusions) 1) Any claim that Your main Motor insurance Policy does not respond to or where the Excess is not exceeded. 2) Any claim on the Motor Insurance Policy or Car Rental Agreement which occurred prior to the attachment date of this policy as shown on Your Certificate of Insurance or Confirmation of Coverage document. 3) Any claim where the Motor Insurance Policy or Car Rental Agreement is on the basis of or includes Commercial Travel. 4) Any claim notified to Us more than 31 days following the settlement of Your claim by Your Motor Insurer. 5) Any contribution or deduction from the settlement of Your claim against Your Motor Insurance Policy or Car Rental Agreement other than the stated policy Excess, for which You have been made liable. 6) Where a third party has Waived or Reimbursed You and made good which is the first amount of any claim, shown in the schedule under own damage of Your Motor Insurance Policy. 7) Any liability You accept by agreement or contract, unless You would have been liable anyway. 8) Any claim that is refused by Your Motor Insurance Policy Insurers to whom You are claiming. 9) Any claim arising from glass repair or replacement. 10) Claims for the Excess against the Car Rental Agreement where the persons driving are not named on the Car Rental Agreement. 11) Claims for the Excess against the Car Rental Agreement arising from operation of the vehicle in violation of the Car Rental Agreement. 12) Any losses caused by war, revolution or any similar event. 13) Any losses caused by: a) Ionising radiation or radioactive contamination from any nuclear fuel or from any nuclear waste which results from burning nuclear fuel; or b) Radioactive, toxic, explosive or other dangerous properties of any nuclear machinery or any part of it. Conditions applicable 1) Right of recovery - We can take proceedings in Your name but at Our expense to recover for Our benefit the amount of any payment made under this policy. 2) Other insurance - If You were covered by any other Insurance for the Excess payable following the incident, which resulted in a valid claim under this policy, We will only pay Our share of the claim.

3) Keeping to the terms of this policy - We will only give You the cover that is described in this policy if any person claiming cover has met with all its terms and the terms of the policy, as far as they apply. 4) Fraudulent claims - If You make a claim under this policy that is false or fraudulent in any way, the policy is void and any claim will not be paid. Cancellation Rights We hope You are happy with the cover this policy provides. However, if You decide that for any reason, this policy does not meet Your insurance needs then please return it to Your administrator within 14 days from the day of purchase or the day on which You receive Your policy documentation, whichever is the later. On the condition that no claims have been made or are pending, we will then refund Your premium in full. Thereafter You may cancel the insurance cover at any time by informing Your administrator however You will be entitled to the return of a proportionate part of the premium corresponding to the unexpired period of insurance. We shall not be bound to accept renewal of any insurance and may at any time cancel any insurance document by giving 14 days notice in writing where there is a valid reason for doing so. A cancellation letter will be sent to You at Your last known address. Valid reasons may include but are not limited to: a) Where We reasonably suspect fraud b) Non-payment of premium c) Threatening and abusive behaviour d) Non-compliance with policy terms and conditions e) You have not taken reasonable care to provide complete and accurate answers to the questions We ask. Where Our investigations provide evidence of fraud or a serious non-disclosure, We may cancel the policy immediately and backdate the cancellation to the date of the fraud or the date when You provided Us with incomplete or inaccurate information, which may result in Your policy being cancelled from the date You originally took it out. If We cancel the policy and/or any additional covers You will receive a refund of any premiums You have paid for the cancelled cover, less a proportionate deduction for the time We have provided cover, unless the reason for cancellation is fraud and/or We are entitled to keep the premium under the Consumer Insurances (Disclosure and Representations) Act 2012. How to Make a Claim Claims will be handled on the Insurer s behalf by the Claims Administrator. The process has been designed specifically to enable the process and handling of the claim to be as quick and efficient as possible. Please call the Claims Administrator on 01226 345040 to notify them of Your claim. The Claims Administrator will register Your claim. They will send an acknowledgement letter with a claim form for You to complete. This correspondence will include a list of documents required to support Your claim. Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) Great Lakes Insurance SE, is covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS). You may be entitled to compensation from the scheme, if Great Lakes Insurance SE cannot meet their obligations. Most insurance contracts are covered for 90% of the claim with no upper limit. This depends on the type of business and the circumstances of the claim. You can get more information about the compensation scheme arrangements from the FSCS by visiting www.fscs.org.uk. We may also send the information in confidence for process to other companies acting on their instructions including those located outside the European Economic Area (EEA). All countries in the EEA, which includes the UK, have similar standards of legal protection for your personal information.
