SCOPE The successful implementation of the Risk management Strategy requires a consistent and systematic approach to risk management at all levels of North Gold Coast Seahawks Basketball operations. General Money handling Player / Official valuables security Building security Safe Operating Procedures The Risk Management Committee will prepare safe operating procedures for all areas identified as presenting any risk to the organisation; other aspects that may be included are: Emergency planning; Contractor management and Visiting Club management. Monitoring & Review It is incumbent on the North Gold Coast Seahawks Basketball Risk Management Committee to review the performance of the risk management systems and changes which might affect it on an annual basis. Records are to be maintained for the following: o Hazard identification o Risk assessments o Accident / incidents o Player health monitoring o Incidents of harm Responsibilities For Risk Management Board The Board is responsible for setting the overall level of business risk that is acceptable for North Gold Coast Seahawks Basketball, and communicating this risk tolerance to the General Manager and the Senior Management Team. The Board endorses the Risk Management Policy and the Risk Management Procedures Manual and monitors compliance with these through the Risk Management Committee. The Board delegates authority for the implementation of the risk management framework to the General Manager. General Manager The General Manager is responsible for assisting the Board to identify risks, and must ensure that relevant information is presented to enable the Board to sign off on the risk management framework. The General Manager is charged with the overall management of risk at North Gold Coast Seahawks Basketball and with compliance with associated risk policies and procedures as approved by the Board, including Monitoring ongoing operational relevance of the risk management framework; Overview of Risk Register; Maintaining the Risk Register and Risk Action Plan Register; Interviewing Risk Owners regularly to ensure the registers are kept current; Ensuring risks are identified, assessed, monitored and mitigated where required; Providing information and advice to assist risk owners to identify and assess risks; and Providing reports and compliance documentation to the Risk Management Committee and the Board. Staff, including Risk Owners, will assist the General Manager in these duties as required. Risk Owners Risk Owners for each risk will be identified in the risk management framework. A Risk Owner is responsible for the overall operation of the Risk Management Process with respect to that risk and, where determined by the Risk Manager and Compliance Officer/Administrator, the development, implementation and monitoring of any Risk Action Plan with respect to that risk. Operational Staff All staff and volunteers need to be aware of the importance of risk management, and to identify and report operational risks as they arise in their work environment. Page 6
