MEMBERSHIP EXPLAINED SKUD Frula offers two distinct ways of involvement in the Society s programs and/or governance to those interested: Program Participation Society Membership Program Participation: If you are interested in attending one of our dance and/or vocal programs for fun and recreation without getting involved with the governance of the Society you have the option of registering as a program participant by filling out the Program Registration Form and paying the Program Fee for Non-Members. Society Membership: If you would like to get involved with the governance and the decision-making within the Society then by filling out the Membership Application Form and paying the Yearly Membership Fee ($30 per year) you become a member of the Society. To be eligible to become a Society Member you need to be the age of 18 years on the day that you apply for membership. Society Members can be either: a) Voting Members b) Non-Voting Members All members in good standing are entitled to reduced program fees and other benefits not available to Non-Members, such as savings on events organized and conducted by Frula. Depending on the financials of SKUD Frula during the particular season, this can include subsidies and/or full reimbursement for the cost of various trips organized by the Society. Voting Members are expected to actively engage in the process of voting and decision making for the benefit of the Society. Non-Voting Members are not eligible to vote, but are eligible to attend any or all of the Society s Member Meetings as well as the Annual General Meeting if they choose to do so. Family Membership allows the primary member (the one that is filling out the Membership Application Form) to add up to 4 additional family members. All family members of the age of 18 years can choose to be either Voting or Non-Voting Members. All family members that are not of the age of 18 years are considered to be Junior Members. The Family Membership Fee is still $30 per year regardless of additional family members. If you wish to include more than 4 additional family members, you will not need to pay extra, but you will be required to fill out another Membership Application Form.

As a Society Member you are not required to participate in any of the programs SKUD Frula has to offer. You can support the Society through volunteering or by getting involved in the governance and decision-making only, without getting involved as a program participant. However if you wish to be involved in any of the dance and/or vocal programs SKUD Frula has to offer, as a registered Society Member, you can participate in one or more of the programs and help govern the Society at the same time. You will be entitled to discounts when registering for programs (Please refer to the Price List portion of this booklet).

RULES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Practice: In order to ensure a successful and efficient use of practice time, all program participants are expected to adhere to the following rules: 1. Respect the instructor and the organization you represent. 2. Follow instructions given. (For example, if your instructor asks you to form a circle, it s expected that you do so immediately) 3. Refrain from socializing and sitting during instruction. Those activities are only permitted during assigned break sessions. 4. Omit cell phone usage during practice. If there is an urgent matter requiring your attention please inform your instructor beforehand. 5. No bullying or foul language, either toward a fellow student or instructor. 6. Show up to practice on a regular basis. Insufficient attendance, such that it delays the progress of you and your group, may result in consequences such as loss of position, inability to travel, and inability to perform. All rules above are monitored and are accounted for by the instructor of said group. It is under your instructor s discretion whether or not you have abided to these rules. If you believe there is a discrepancy in the way an instructor is managing these regulations, the Board of Directors is to be contacted. If one fails to abide by these rules, the instructor has the right to give two verbal warnings. Upon the third verbal warning, you will be dismissed from that current practice. These expulsions are not to be taken lightly, as they will be recorded and may affect your future ability to perform and/or participate in any related practices of Frula. If one refuses to leave practice after being asked to do so, the Board of Directors will be notified. Please Note: If under 18 yrs. parents will be notified of expulsion, or refusal to leave from practice.

Volunteering: Without volunteering, many of our cultural events would not be possible. It is an important part of our Serbian community as well as Frula s dance society! If you plan to volunteer this season, you are expected to volunteer at least 8 hours of your time per season to events and/or activities. For those interested in volunteering, please read below: 1. You are responsible for signing up to volunteer for events and activities throughout the year, as well as keeping track of your volunteer hours. All dancers will be notified when volunteering opportunities arise. 2. If you are signed up to volunteer for an event, you MUST attend said event on time and with adequate preparation. If your schedule changes and you can no longer attend, you must give a one-week notice to the event supervisors. If it is not possible for you to give a one-week notice, the Board of Directors will consider the penalty. 3. Be 100% committed to any event you volunteer for and bring a positive attitude. Failure to abide and respect these rules may result in loss of traveling and/or performance privileges for yourself or your child. If one has opted to volunteer, but has not completed the required 8 hours of volunteer service, the $200 deposit check will not be returned. The Board of Directors, in case of conflict, will evaluate the said 8 hours for accuracy and completion. In the case of a family with many participating members in Frula who are not 18 years of age and older, it will be under the discretion of the board how many hours of volunteer work must be completed. Please Note: Those who do not volunteer will be charged an extra $200 per season, per member. By signing this document, I agree that I will abide to the rules and responsibilities stated above. PRICE LIST Society Membership is $30 a year. If you and your family members would all like to become Society Members, the fee will still be $30 per year. Any person, whether part of a dancing/singing group or not, can become a member of society (involved in the governance and decision making within Frula) at a price of $30 a year. In this manner, group members will be able to become Society Members to reduce their monthly membership fee alongside a voting priviledge. For members that will be participating in one or more of SKUD Frula's programs, please refer to the table below. In this table you will find the monthly fees for each dance group SKUD Frula has to offer. As well as the monthly fee for anyone who wishes to be a part of a vocal group. GROUP PRICE FOR MEMBERS (Per Month) PRICE FOR N-MEMBERS (Per Month) MORAVA (5-7 Years Old) $25 $30 TARA (8-11 Years Old) $30 $35 SAVA (12-15 Years Old) $35 $40 TISA (15-17 Years Old) $35 $40 DUNAV (18 + Years Old) $50 $55 DRINA (Veterans) $35 $40 RECREATIONAL (Any Age) $25 $30 SINGING (Any Age) FREE $25 The Recreational Group is for those dancers that do not wish to perform and travel with SKUD Frula. It is a fun and relaxing group for all ages and talents. No previous dance experience is required! Monthly fees for Dunav are $50 per month (for members) and $55 per month (for nonmembers) as this group practices twice a week while all other groups only practice once weekly. This fee increase takes care of the extra dance studio rental as well as the instructor's wage.

If you have family who wish to dance and/or sing, each member of your family can choose to become a Society Member or not. Becoming a member provides a discounted monthly fee as shown below: Example 1 Society Members If you and your 2 kids (9, and 14 years old) decide to dance and become Society Members, the combined monthly fee for all three of you would be: $35 (Drina) + $30 (Tara) + $35 (Sava) = $100/month or $1030/year (with the $30 Yearly Family Membership Fee) Example 2 Non Members If you and your 2 kids (9, and 14 years old) decide to dance and do not wish to be Society Members, the combined monthly fee for all three of you would be: $40 (Drina) + $35 (Tara) + $40 (Sava) = $115/month or $1150/year Membership fees must be paid by check to Serbian Cultural Society Frula. Please pay for the full season when registering (10 months September to June). Registration and payment will be done before the first practice of the season. If you do not register and pay before the start of the season, you will not be able to practice until done so. If you are finacially unable to pay the membership fees for you or your family members, please feel free to contact the Executives of Frula at skud.frula.info@gmail.com who will help you find an alternative solution. If by any circumstance you need to take a leave of absence from Frula for a month or longer, or wish to cancel your membership all together, please inform your instructor or our financial executive atleast one month in advance. The financial executive will refund fees for any month(s) in which you will not be attending practices or participating in Frula events. This refund will be done at the end of the season (in July). If you come to atleast one practice in the month you claim to be absent for, your monthly fee will not be refunded.

VOLUNTEERING Along with dancing and/or singing, students are encouraged to volunteer for the improvement and betterment of Frula. Each year there are many events and activities that require attention, things that cannot be completed without the help of Frula members. From events such as trip fundraisers, to activities such as organizing and distributing our traditional Serbian costumes (nosnje), volunteers are needed everywhere! If you choose to volunteer, it is expected that you complete a minimum of 8 hours of volunteer work for the season. There will be plenty of things to help out with, for all age groups! Refer to rules and responsibilities for specifics. If you do not wish to volunteer you will pay an additional $20 each month (totaling to an additional $200 per season) on top of your regular monthly membership fees. DO YOU WISH TO VOLUNTEER? Frula Serbian Cultural Society Waiver and Acknowledgment of Risk: I understand and agree that in participating in any dance class, workshop, rehearsal or performance, there is a possibility of physical injury. I voluntarily agree, therefore, to assume all risks and responsibility for any such injury or accident, which might occur to my child or me during any of Frula s classes, rehearsals, performances, or activities. I also exempt, release, and indemnify Frula, it s board of directors, volunteers, assistants, employees, guest artists, faculty members, and/or students from any and all liability claims, demands, or causes of action whatsoever from any damage, loss, or injury to me, my children, or property which may arise out of or in connection with participation in any classes or activities conducted to Frula. I understand that I should be aware of my physical limitations and agree to not exceed them to a point of selfharm. If I am signing this waiver for my children, I certify that I am the parent or legal guardian and have the right to waive these rights. I also grant permission to Frula to take and post photographs, videos, and any other media of it s students (dancers and singers) on our Facebook page, website and other social media outlets for publicity purposes.
