The presentation is designed to meet the above needs by identifying features of recent developments that are specifically relevant to small and medium-sized firms, including tax practitioners, auditors, accountants, directors, compliance officers, company secretaries and learners. Course Outline The seminar will principally focus on new and pending legislation and summarise the major provisions of the 2012 Budget Speech, examining their impact on individual taxpayers and businesses. You will also benefit from: An overview of the impact of the 2012 Budget An update of pending tax legislation and other developments Better understanding through practical examples A detailed explanation of the latest tax legislation, rulings, interpretation notes and guides A closer look at Taxation Laws Amendment Bill, 19 of 2011 and Taxation Laws Second Amendment Bill, 20 of 2011 An overview of the Tax Administration Bill, 20 of 2011 Training Provider ProBeta Accountancy Development (Pty) Ltd ( ProBeta ) through Itukisa (Pty) Limited ( Itukisa ) has been appointed to deliver the seminar. Itukisa is an independent firm of consultants providing education and training to trainee Accountants, middle and senior managers from audit and accounting practices, professional institutes and corporations in Southern Africa. Dieter Schulze After completing his training contract at RSM Betty & Dickson (Johannesburg) in 1992, Dieter worked as a Group Accountant for International Data Security Limited in London (United Kingdom) and as Project Accountant at Protea Assurance Company Limited (South Africa). In 1996 Dieter moved to Cape Town and was appointed as Audit Partner at RSM Betty & Dickson (Cape Town). He has a Post-Graduate Diploma in Tax Law from the University of Cape Town and a B Compt Honours Degree from the University of South Africa. He is a Chartered Accountant and has been a Registered Auditor since 1998. Dieter presented training seminars for Fasset in 2004, 2005 and 2007.

Wessel SmitWessel is an independent tax consultant, and has extensive experience in presenting taxation courses, and advising on taxation issues, including experience in the writing and reviewing of technical learning material. After Wessel completed his training with PricewaterhouseCoopers, he worked in the United Kingdom for two years. Thereafter has been a senior lecturer at the University of the Free State for four years. Wessel is a member of SAICA's National Tax Committee and has a BCompt (Hons); HDip Tax; MCom (Taxation) and CA(SA). David Warnekequalified as a Chartered Accountant in 1993 after which he started his own practice. He has specialised in tax and is a senior lecturer in tax at the University of Cape Town, where he has taught tax from undergraduate to Masters level. David has an Honours degree in Financial Accounting from UCT, a Masters degree in Tax Law from UCT as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Tax Law from UCT. He is co-author of Questions on SA Tax, prescribed at many leading Universities in South Africa. He has regularly written articles on tax for the likes of Business Day, Financial Mail, Moneywebtax and The Mail and Guardian. He has recently been appointed director in charge of income tax: technical at BDO South Africa. Lynette Badenhorst is a Director and the Chief Financial Officer at ProBeta. Lynette has taught at various tertiary institutions including North West University (Potchefstroom campus), Damelin and Vista University. She is a qualified Chartered Accountant and has an Advanced Certificate in Taxation, a Certificate in Forensic and Investigative Auditing, a Masters Degree in Domestic and International Taxation, and a Masters Degree in International Taxation. Lynette is involved in many domestic and international projects; facilitating training for ProBeta s advanced courses. She also heads up the annual ProBeta tax booklet. Agenda The seminar will run from 08h00 to 13h00 and will include Registration (08h00 to 08h30) and a Fasset welcome and briefing (08h30 to 08h50). Please Note 1. It is the role of the Skills Development Facilitator (SDF) to distribute this invitation to relevant individuals in the organisation who may benefit from this training. 2. At Fasset s discretion, any venue with less than 30 registrations will be cancelled and delegates notified in writing. 4. While every effort is made to pre-plan training workshops, delegates are accommodated on a first-come-firstserved basis when registering. Where we are unable to accommodate you at your venue of choice, you will be contacted to confirm another acceptable venue. 5. Fasset reserves the right to refuse late-comers or delegates who book after the deadline.

6. Fasset members who pay the Skills Development Levy and who travel over 300kms (roundtrip) to attend a training session will be reimbursed at a rate of R3.28 per kilometre. The travel claim procedure and the requirements for this travel claim are available on our website (Events section). 7. Should a delegate choose to attend a training session at a venue not in close proximity to their home, and other adequately located venues have been provided by Fasset, Fasset will not reimburse a travel claim. Claims will only be paid where the closest venues are fully booked and delegates are requested by the Fasset Call Centre to move to another venue.
