1 Remuneration of Public Office Bearers Act (20/1998): Determination of salaries and allowances of Members of the Executive Council and Members of the Provincial Legislature: Remuneration 4167 PROVINSIALE KOERANT, BUITENGEWOON, 9 JANUARIE 2019 No. 4167 3 Provincial Notices Provinsiale Kennisgewings PROVINCIAL NOTICE 1 OF 2019 DETERMINATION OF SALARIES AND ALLOWANCES OF MEMBERS OF THE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL AND MEMBERS OF THE PROVINCIAL LEGISLATURE: REMUNERATION OF PUBLIC OFFICE BEARERS ACT, 1998 (ACT NO. 20 OF 1998) I, Phumulo Godfrey Masualle, Premier of the Province of the Eastern Cape, acting in terms of section 6(3) of the remuneration of Public Office Bearers Act, 1998 (Act No. 20 of 1998) (hereinafter referred to as the "Act "), having regard to Presidential Proclamation No.39 published in Gazette No. 42107 of 13 December 2018, hereby determine that - 1 The total remuneration packages of the positions of office bearers in Column 3 of Schedule 1 shall be as set out in column 4 of Schedule 1 with effect from 1 April 2018, subject to section 6 of the Act, and the conditions set out herein. 2. The total remuneration packages includes the following elements: 2.1 A Basic salary component of 60% of the total package, which constitutes the pensionable salary; 2.2 An amount of R120 000 per annum, which is an amount to which section 8(1) (d) of the Income Tax Act, 1962, applies. This amount is included in the basic salary component; 2.3 An employer's pension benefit contribution equal to 22, 5% of pensionable

The last provincial notice determining the salaries and allowances of Members of the Executive Council and Members of the Provincial Legislature is hereby repealed.
