National Sector Results Fourth Quarter 2018 Canadian credit unions ended 2018 with solid growth and a strong balance sheet. assets at Canadian Credit Union Association (CCUA) affiliated credit unions/caisses populaires rose by $16.3 billion, or 7.5 per cent, over a one-year period to reach $232.6 billion in the fourth quarter of 2018. Canadians had $196.8 billion on deposit with affiliated credit unions and caisses populaires, representing an increase of $12.7 billion or 6.9 per cent over fourth quarter 2017. Affiliated As of fourth quarter of 2018, there are 248 credit unions and caisses populaires in the sector.
