Martin M. Naville CEO of the Swiss-American Chamber of Commerce Zurich, Switzerland Martin M. Naville is CEO of the Swiss-American Chamber of Commerce, a leading business association helping its 2200 business members (Swiss and American companies) to do business between Switzerland and the USA. The Chamber strives to uphold and improve the relationship between these two important business partners. The Chamber is also the spokesperson for multinationals companies based in Switzerland large and small, Swiss and foreign. Before taking the helm of the Chamber on October 1, 2004, Martin Naville spent 16 years with The Boston Consulting Group in Munich, Zurich and New York. In 1995, he was elected Partner and Director of The Boston Consulting Group. At BCG, he specialized in the fields of Wealth Management and Telecommunications. Martin Naville started his professional career as a corporate banker with JP Morgan in Zurich and New York in 1984. Martin Naville holds a Master of Law from the University of Zurich. He is Chairman of the Board of the Zurich Zoo since 2004. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Lombard International, the leading Luxembourg life insurance company, of Friends Provident International (Isle of Man) and of Swissquote, the Swiss leader in online trading. Mr. Naville is married to Christiane Naville and they have two boys born aged 16 and 18. They live in Küsnacht near Zurich.
Chip K. Collins Group Head of QI Compliance and FATCA Group Tax, Stamford Chip K. Collins is Managing Director and Group Head of QI Compliance and FATCA at UBS AG. Mr. Collins was formerly Partner, National Director for the Information Reporting Practice at KPMG LLP, where he was responsible for information reporting and withholding requirements for financial institutions, with a particular focus on Qualified Intermediary requirements. Previously, he was with another big four accounting firm and prior to that he was an Attorney Advisor for the IRS, office of Associate Chief Counsel (International). He also served as a Law Clerk for the District of Columbia Court of Appeals. Mr. Collins received his A.B. degree in Economics from Stanford University and his J.D. degree from UCLA School of Law. He is a member of the California State Bar and was a member of the Information reporting Program Advisory Committee (IRPAC), where he served as chairperson in 1995.
Christopher A. St. Victor-de Pinho Co-Head of Tax & Senior Tax Counsel Group Tax, Stamford Christopher Pinho is a Managing Director and Senior Tax Counsel at UBS AG. Chris was appointed global Co-Head of Tax for the UBS Group in March of 2012. As Co-Head of Tax, Chris will focus primarily on UBS s operations outside of Switzerland. In his present role, he is responsible for all aspects of tax reporting, tax accounting, and tax legal advisory services for the UBS Group, and manages a team of approximately 115 tax professionals located throughout the world in the major jurisdictions in which UBS operates. Prior to being appointed to his current position, Chris held various roles at UBS including Head of Tax - Region Americas, and Head of the Capital Markets Tax Advisory Group where he focused on the taxation of derivatives and financial products. Chris joined UBS in 1999 from KPMG s International Banking Practice where he was a Senior Associate. Chris is a frequent speaker at financial services industry conferences and client events, and has been a guest lecturer in law at several universities including the University of Chicago and Georgetown University. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Wall Street Tax Association, and is affiliated with various industry groups. Chris received a B.A. in History from the University of Virginia, a J.D. from Washington & Lee University, a LL.M. in Tax from Georgetown University, and a Certificate in International Law from the Université de Paris, Sorbonne II. He is a member of the Virginia State Bar and is Authorized House Counsel in the State of Connecticut. He holds FINRA Series 7 and 24 licenses.
Mario J. Verdolini Partner Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP New York Mario Verdolini is a partner in Davis Polk s Tax Department and is the coordinator of the firm s tax controversy and tax risk management practices. He advises multinational corporations in the financial, manufacturing, consumer products, media and pharmaceutical industries on a broad range of tax matters, including controversy, and risk management. His tax controversy experience includes litigation matters, arbitrations, administrative proceedings, and alternative dispute resolution. He has settled tax disputes involving billions of dollars and a variety of tax issues. He also has represented clients in internal, governmental and grand jury investigations into tax matters. He recently achieved a complete victory in a Tax Court case involving a cross-border debt/equity issue. He also has worked on matters relating to the reporting of foreign bank accounts. Mario also plays a lead role in Davis Polk s bono tax practice and has advised on numerous matters in the exempt organizations area, including risk management projects for educational institutions. He received his B.A. degree from Yale in 1985 and his J.D. from NYU in 1990. He is admitted to practice in New York and before the U.S. District Court (S.D.N.Y.), the U.S. Tax Court, the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Federal Circuit. He has been a Davis Polk partner since 1997.
