A summary of the requests is as follows: 1. Education and Training: Continuation of Small Business Workshop Series a well-rounded curriculum of essential knowledge and tools to support small business success, retention and growth in our City. $10,000 2. Olive Link Development and Revitalization: continued coordination and development of Olive Leadership Group, Regional Economic Development Partnership relationships and events, additional published business profiles, and the development of a Property Owner s Guide to Becoming a Vibrant Business District. In addition, proposals for two quick-win visual improvements along the Olive Link: installation of festive lighting for ethnic restaurants and public art. $11,500 3. City-wide Advertising and Marketing Campaign: Working to ensure that the entire City of U City is promoted throughout the region through print, digital and social media marketing campaigns that highlight community and regional events and promotions throughout all corners of U City. Essential regional messaging and City branding with added videos in FY17 showing that U City is a great place to live, work, play and do business. The only consistent marketing and ad campaigns featuring the Olive Link, the Olive Ethnic Dining Guide, the Loop, a variety of City attractions and events, as well as promotions for businesses in every business district. $36,000 4. Taste of U City: Popular annual event featuring an ever growing number and variety of great U City restaurants, Taste is quickly becoming a U City tradition. Now held in the beautiful Mandarin House Banquet Center on Olive Boulevard, the venue is large enough to host everincreasing numbers of attendees. The event is promoted regionally and draws visitors from other communities to experience the variety of foods to be enjoyed from all corners of U City. $7,000

5. North & South Block Party: Popular, important, inclusive, family-friendly, community-building event featuring a vibrant, yet under-served business district. Plans to expand marketing. Model event for other business districts to emulate. $8,000 6. Regional Branding and Tourism Attraction: The Chamber proposes to quite literally put ALL of U City on the map as an attractive destination for visitors of all ages through advertising in the St. Louis Visitor s Guide and Explore St. Louis Convention Centers. Campaign will include establishing a new category to the dining section and placement of each Olive Link ethnic restaurant on the central corridor map of the Visitor s Guide. The map will feature our multiple business districts, as well as a sampling of parks, entertainment, and public art locations across the entire community. A revised version of the Olive Link Ethnic Dining guide will be printed on the reverse side of the map for the brochure form to attract visitors to this culturally rich, yet under-served, under-utilized, and economically depressed area of our community. Includes project development and management, business communications, SLCVC membership sales and collections. $33,000 Total of proposed projects: $105,500 Thank you for your consideration.
