About Stocks in the Future Stocks in the Future (SIF) works with underserved middle school student populations in the Baltimore vicinity. Through our specialized financial literacy curriculum and incentives, SIF gives middle schools a way to teach students financial life skills including personal finance, investing and business theory. Students participating in SIF s program are given opportunity to earn SIF Dollars an incentive to attend school regularly and earn better grades. Our mission is to develop highly motivated middle school students who are eager to learn and dedicated to attending class through the use of incentives coupled with a financial literacy curriculum focused on investing that reinforces Math, Language Arts, and Social Studies. Our vision is to see middle school students thrive in their classrooms, homes and neighborhoods by investing in their financial future and themselves. Our core values are education, encouragement and empowerment. Our rate of success: Sixth grade students new to SIF in 2014-15 showed significant increases in self-reported ability with respect to personal finance and investment know-how by the end of the school year. This supports the idea that SIF s program is introducing a new generation of students with tools to make sound financial decisions as adults. Relative to non-enrolled students, 6th and 7th grade SIF students were significantly more likely to gain important investment-related reading comprehension skills. Students in SIF were less likely to be chronically absent by the end of the school year when compared to students not enrolled in the program. SIF by the Numbers: 2017-18 Academic Year 18 schools 900 middle school students 1,100+ program alumni (current high school students) 3

About SIF s 4th Annual March Market Madness Join us for an evening of hors d'oeuvres, beer, wine and a lot of great networking, to directly benefit SIF students as they gain a solid academic foundation and learn essential personal finance and investing skills. Now in its fourth year, March Market Madness is SIF s hallmark special event and a fun basketball/wall Street mash-up! March Market Madness will be held in the beautiful Glass Pavilion at Johns Hopkins University s Levering Hall, overlooking the campus grounds. Place your bid for our March Market Madness Contest, sign up for a basketball shooting competition or enjoy cornhole toss, check out our extensive silent auction and participate in our live auction. Proceeds will benefit Stocks in the Future's financial literacy program for middle school students. Learn more about our program at www.sifonline.org Program Highlights An Insider s Perspective on Stocks in the Future. We are excited to welcome an array of speakers from both SIF s program and from within the Baltimore community, including: current SIF students and alumni, SIF teachers and principals who will offer their perspectives on the importance of financial literacy in K-12 education and in preparing for the future. Guests will better understand the impact SIF s financial literacy curriculum has on students, schools and communities! An SIF Classic: The Market Madness Contest. Who in the room will win bragging rights as the best market forecaster? In an exclusive contest that has become this event s tradition, attendees can wager during the weeks up to the event on the S&P 500 s 3/20/17 closing number. Contest entrants can compare their predictions to others on our NYSEstyle Big Board. One-half of the sum of all wagers will be divided among the 1 st and 2 nd place winners while the remaining half will support Stocks in the Future. 4

The Glass Pavilion The Glass Pavilion is part of Levering Hall on Johns Hopkins University s Homewood campus. The spacious room is surrounded three sides with glass walls and a wraparound outdoor promenade. The openness of the Glass Pavilion makes it the perfect location for SIF s ever-growing annual fundraiser. Stocks in the Future is proud to host March Market Madness on the Johns Hopkins University campus, a testament to our organization s history of partnership with the university s School of Education. The primary visitor parking area for the Glass Pavilion is the South Garage, which is underneath Mason Hall and accessed from Wyman Park Drive (between San Martin and Art Museum Drives). South Garage is open 24 hours a day and staffed from 8am to 6pm. From the garage, Levering Hall is a 5 minute walk across the Decker Quad and past Garland Hall. These supplies help motivate students to improve their outlook on education and their academic acheivement. $1,000 Allows 40 Stocks in the Future students to have a valuable, hands-on learning experience at Towson University's state of the art Finance Lab. SIF's field trips to the Finance Lab simulate trading room floor transactions and are led by teams of corporate volunteers - a wonderful oppotunity for students and professionals to interact! $750 Sends 8 of Stocks in the Future's dedicated teachers to a professional development training session. During a session, teachers learn from industry professionals and also share their own knowledge of investing and personal finance to help enhance the students' educational experience with Stocks in the Future. 11
